We will be staying a the BC in August. I have a single friend from FL who will visit us for one night (8/24) while we are there. She can't stay in our room because we are a family of 5. I'd hate for her to pay the BC prices for one person. What do you recommend or her? What value fo moderate is close to BC? And if she stays there, will it be a hassle for her to visit us at BC? Or it just easier for her to stay at BC, despite the rate? I know she can get a FL discount, but it is still high.

TIA:)

personally id bring a ready bed or blow up kids one for the 4 year old and let them have her bed if its only for one night.

Have you looked at the Swan or Dolphin hotels? They are walking distance and often have discounts and promotions. Worth taking a look. Or, as it's a Sunday night, you could try to get a DVC room at either BWV or BCV by renting points from a member. You might get lucky with availability for just one night - it could cost less than $150 that way.

Good luck with it.

especially if your friend can take advantage of education or government employee discount offered. My sister paid just this past week approx. $145 which included tax per night at Dolphin with education employee rate and had a great room with views of Boardwalk and Studios. The rest of us were staying at BW and we either walked to meet up or coordinated getting on the same boat to either Epcot or Studios. Not 100% sure on this but I think BC,BW & Swan & Dolphin share the bus that goes to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, etc. ( we drove to these parks so that's why I can't say for sure).

The next closest resorts to the Epcot/Studios resort area I would say is Pop Century (value) and Carribean Beach (moderate). Actually I think Pop Century may be a bit closer and easier to drive to/from and also for a pickup location by the areas where rooms are located. When exiting Beach Club it'd be a right then follow road (Epcot Resorts Blvd.) around to Boardwalk with a left onto Buena Vista Drive and right (at very next traffic light I believe) onto Victory Way then left onto Pop's entrance road. Same for Carribean Beach except no turn onto Victory Way just continue straight on Buena Vista & entrance comes up on right.

:) thanks everyone for the great answers. I appreciate the help as I try to find the best deal. Yeah, the Swan/dolphin sounds like a good compromise, it was $159 for a FL rate when I called yesterday. Doesn't it also have a resort fee and parking fee too? This may make it closer to the BC rate, she may be best off at the POP since she only needs a bed and shower really.

Thanks again!:thumbsup2

thanks too, for the great driving directions!!!

Why not point your friend in the direction of the WDW website and let her book the hotel she wants based on her budget? The closest value is Pop & moderate is Caribbean Beach...but Coronado isn' far either. I understand what you're saying about her being solo, but perhaps SHE think's she is worth the cost of a nicer room. ;) Nothing will beat he convenience of BC or Yacht Club, since that's where you'll be. Plus, it's only 1 night!

Keep in mind she can visit you at the resort but can't use the pools, including Stormalong Bay. They'll be checking resort id on everyone at each entry point, and she'll be denied. The rest of the resort is open to anyone, regardless of where they're staying.

If it's just a place to sleep and shower, I'd recommend POP. And that date falls during the current $69 rate, I think. Otherwise try AAA or FL rate. Good luck!

I'd check out renting points for one night at the Beach Club Villas. You should be able to get her a studio for less than a room at Swan or Dolphin. :thumbsup2
