My shoes are, in general, not built for walking. :cutie: I'm not a tennis shoe person. I did ok at the parks last year with a combination of slip on sketchers and various not sensible sandals. I need some new summer shoes anyway but can anyone point me to some sandals or other shoes that might be good for walking the parks and be cute? I was looking at montrails recovery flip flops but I don't know if those are intended for walking long distances. it would be nice to also have something that will dry quickly for rainy days. Any non tennis shoe suggestions would be appreciated. :flower1:

We wear Chaco sandals at WDW. They have good arch support - designed for hiking - and since the straps are adjustable we are able to loosen them as our feet swell. They can get wet and dry quickly. And, if we end up with a cool day they can be worn with socks. :)

Look into Vionics! I have a horrible heel spur and the one day I wore a different shoe in the parks I was in so much pain. The next day I put my Vionics back on and have worn them everyday since! They have all different styles from sandals to heels. I'm sure you can find something you will like!

I do not ever wear tennis shoes!!!! And I must say the Skechers GoWalk's with the Goga Mat are incredible - they don't have laces and slip right on in a great lightweight. The are super lightweight and very comfy! Have cute colors as well.

Merrill sandals!! Comfortable, and they dry out very quickly--even after an unexpected dunking on PotC.

I love my keens! They are supportive and comfortable. They breath really well and dry quickly when wet. When walking through a rain shower, they don't get slippery on the inside either.

Every foot is different, and you will want to try several things out.

It's variations of the Keen H2 sandals for all 4 of us here. I like the Whispers, hubby and the boys like the Newports. Very supportive, quick dry, and they last forever. You can often find a good deal on ebay. My hubby and kids wear them for hiking when they have to cross water, so they get a lot of use out of them.

A lot of people like Chaco, but I can't deal with the shape of their arch support. They seem to be a love 'em or hate 'em shoe. My sister adores hers, but Mom and I can't wear them at all (I have flat feet).

Whatever you decide, make sure to have something different to wear when not in the parks. Being able to give your feet a change really helps with foot fatigue.

My Nikes and my Clarks were my go-tos. Not a single blister and never a sore foot. The Nikes (soft foot bed) weren't as water friendly, but my Clarks were great. Casual enough for shorts, but also went with sundresses etc.

I will second Vionics. I started having major food pain, after having my twins, from Plantar Fasciitis and developed a spur. These are the only shoes I wear now because they are so supportive. As long as I wear them my feet feel great. I started wearing them in the parks last trip and had no issues at all.

Thank you! Already a lot of awesome suggestions there!! Now I have to decide...

I have no doubt that the completely impractical wedge sandals will find their way into my suitcase ... again. But that's probably not what you meant. :p

I 2nd Chaco's.. better get a jump on breaking in whatever you decide, summer be here before we all now it! Hopefully :hourglass:sunny:

This. With Memory Form. Deliciously comfortable.

I normally wear my Nike flip flops but we are going in May and I have been on a pretty intense work out/ running schedule the last 7 months so I will most likely be wearing my work out clothing ( going to do some running each morning ) because it's all dry fit type so I will be taking my running shoes , I just got some really comfortable under armour micro G s and they are great on my feet!

Last trip I traded between my Sketchers go walks and my Croc Cleo sandals. The Cleos are great for when it rains.

I never wear tennis shoes. I only wear my Keen Whispers or H2O Newports at DW. They are incredibly comfortable, completely waterproof, dry out fast, wear extremely well, and my feet never hurt. I took my sister-in-law to her foot doctor once when I was wearing my Keens. He noticed, and said that they were one of the best brands of footwear out there.

Birkenstocks, or other Birk licensed footbed sandals. I'm going to bring my Croc Cleo's & Croc Walu boat shoes & probably my New Balance tennis shoes.

Keens for this girl! I wore asics sneaks last time and got horrible blisters after unexpectedly getting drenched on PotC. Now I'll only be wearing my Keens. I am taking my Merrells, which I wear in the hospital just in case there's a cold day as I'm going in February.

I always wore my Birks at DW, until I ruined 2 pair in one trip because of the rain. We usually go late May or Early June, and there's no escaping a rain storm. That's when I found Keens, and have been in love ever since. Still love my Birks in dry weather!
