BEST FISH AND CHIPS at Epcot? Rose & Crown Pub or Yorkshire Fish Shop

I worked in the UK Pavilion back in 2011, and I doubt they would have changed the fish and chips since then.
I can tell you they are different. Yorkshire County fish shop serves generic white fish, the Rose and Crown serves cod. The bar serves from the same kitchen as the Quick Service.
The chips are the same, and are fried in the same kind of oil, but the R&C salts in large batches, so it's a lot easier to get unsalted from the YCFS. The vats for frying the fish and the chips are further apart in the QS, so they always get chips from there when allergies are a concern.

Fish and Chips in the UK are usually cod, sometimes haddock or place. With more and more people going veggie or fish-only, the oil and batter used pretty similar to that used in Epcot. Batter does vary from location to location though, so it's tricky to say what is truly authentic any more!

As a Brit, I can tell you that they're not authentic - the batter was a little too soggy for me and it really should be cod or haddock for proper fish and chips. Saying that, they taste pretty good and the chips are British thick potato fries rather than skinny French fries. Give the YCFS a try if you're after a taster.

Anyone know the difference between the adult and kids version of fish as far as the size?

Personally I think there is a definite difference - not only in portion size but also in taste. The R & C fish and chips is not half so good as the CS. It is soggy and tasteless at R&C. IMHO

In 2010, YCFS served cod-- the sign even said so. By 2011, the sign was gone. A Brit in front of me in line asked the CM what type of fish it was, and the CM's reply was a variety that neither the Brit nor I (a New Englander) had ever heard of. It wasn't nearly as good, and I haven't been back, since.

It's not Disney's fault-- cod has been fished to near commercial extinction at this point. I'd be surprised if even R&C is still serving it now, though I don't know.

If you're looking for cod or haddock, you definitely ought to ask.
