Best first ride in DL?

Hi everyone! I need some of your opinions...
I'm taking a coworker who has become a really good friend over the years to DLR next month. He's in his early 30s and has never been! I wanted to know what you guys think is the best introduction to Disneyland ride? I don't wanna do the most exciting stuff first but I also don't wanna bore him right away either. It's gonna be during halloweentime and pirates will be closed. California screaming will also be closed too, but we wanna start the trip off in DL anyways.

I usually tend to go for Soarin' over California as a first ride, although if I was heading to the Disneyland side first I'd probably grab an Indiana Jones FP then ride Jungle Cruise if I was with a group, or Indy on the single rider line first if I was on my own.

Soarin was a good suggestion. Maybe TSMM? Star Tours? HM?

We tend to hit Pirates, Indy and HM first..no clue why.
If in DCA, Soarin and TSMM

The best introductory ride would probably be Jungle Cruise. It's a classic ride that does a perfect job of introducing someone to the Disney style of humor that can be seen throughout the rest of the park.

Not sure about a first ride, but his first introduction to FP should be Star Tours. Pick that up before you ride anything.

I guess I'd pick Indy first choice and if that was down for some reason, then HM.

I tend to do Space, BLAB, Indy, and Splash first. Thought the last two times I was there ST was closed.

We usually do Peter Pan first.. BUT if our kids were older we would go on Space Mountain first. That is both mine and DH's favorite ride. Next would be Indy.

We usually go for the Matterhorn first, but I guess since we get to DL by monorail that is technically our first ride.

But I'd say either the Matterhorn or Jungle Cruise.

My vote is also for Peter Pan. For me it just doesn't get any more classic than that. Plus it's a great thing to ride first thing and then do Toad's and the rest of Fantasy Land.

IMO, FL is a great way to start. Heavy on nostalgia for sure.

My vote for first ride would be Peter Pan, then you're right in the middle of all that Fantasyland magic, you've walked through the castle, etc. However, my sister always insists on doing the Jungle Cruise as her first ride.

LOVE BTMR at night! What's the Jungle Cruise like at night never been on it after dark.
