What is your favorite festival and why? Trying to decide on a winter, spring, summer, or fall vaca and was wondering what fest is the “best” lol (by matter of opinion)

We really liked the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot, on our only May visit to WDW. Beautiful and charming topiary sculptures abound. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the Food and Wine Fest. It does bring some atmosphere to the World Showcase, but then you might also get drunken idiots puking in the bushes. That's about as un-Disney as you can get.

i like Flower and Garden better than Food and a wine for the beautiful flowers plus food booths. It does seem less crazy than Food and Wine but we still avoid Saturdays and Friday nights

Festival of the Arts! It’s great fun because they have artists actually painting/drawing, so you can meet the talented people who made the pieces you’re taking home! And there’s a paint by number type mural that all the guests help with, and it’s amazing when the final picture comes together and you know you were a part of it. Plus this year they’re bringing back the Broadway performances! I’ve been to all the Epcot festivals, and even this past year when they were just “taste of” and had a lot of cuts, the arts festival just felt so alive and was really fun.

Depends on if you are talking in the before times or in the current sized down times.

In the before times - F&W. They had a number of special lunches or dinners you could book that paired well food and wine (or beer or tequila). They also had little seminars (dubbed deminars here) in the festival center where they would either prepare a dish and you got to taste or did mini-wine tastings.

So far this year I've been to F&G, F&W and will be going to Festival of Holidays Dec. 12 and plan on going to Festival of the Arts in Feb. (I'm making up for having to miss them last year). This year so far F&G has been my favorite. It's not as hot as F&W and since F&W didn't have any of the special events, F&G was just prettier. In the before times F&G used to have the eat to beat concerts which usually had bands we old people liked like Paul Revere and the Raiders.

I've been to all 4 in the before times and there is usually something good about all of them. I will say the story tellers at the Festival of Holidays really make it fun but I don't think the food booths are the best. Too many booths that just have sweets. Festival of the Arts is nice with all the artists there but it might be my least favorite. Weather wise, F&G might win if you go early in the festival. F&W is just hot and rainy and hot and rainy. Festival of the Holidays can be a mixed bag of warm and cold. The only time we went to Festival of the Arts (just before close down) it was cold and rainy.

This is where I'm at too. F&G is lovely throughout the park and there's still plenty of good food booths too.

By far is Food and Wine when it is running full bore. With the wine and food pairing meals, no other come close. With out those, love flower and Garden and all the topiaries.

Thanks for the suggestions! The only one I’ve never done is F&G (I did as a kid but never as an adult)… love F&W and FofA - ugh… they all have appealing aspects. Lol. Why Disney!?! Why make it so hard to choose haha.

I have been to all 4, and surprised myself by enjoying the Holidays the best. I was there last year, so no storytellers, but I enjoyed the decorations, entertainment (music) and food better than the others. I think Flower and Garden was my 2nd favorite because of all the flowers! It is just visually breathtaking on a sunny day. I enjoyed the activities for the Arts a lot, all the stuff to do was really fun. And, I have been several times during Food and Wine, but what I miss there is the decorations. My favorite thing at the festivals is the scavenger hunt, and I think there they have that at all of them. Olaf was the most fun to look for! :)

Before having a child, we used to go to New Orleans for their annual Jazz & Heritage festival. It has food, art, and plenty of music. That's our favorite & best festival.

Although, one year, when in Spain for some Michelin-stared dining & unique local jazz festival, we stumbled into a nightly fireworks competition visible from most anywhere in the town.

But when at Disney, we find Flower & Garden to be the most unique. $8 small plates are at all the festivals; Food & Wine just has more offerings. Festival of the Arts is like gallery hopping, so nothing too uniquely-Disney about it really. On the other hand, a photograph along side a topiary of Goofy is special and only available during Flower & Garden.
