I’m putting the last pieces of the puzzle together for our December trip and I could use some of your assistance.

What are the enjoyable dining experiences for a family with younger children, both character and non-character meals? Please provide as much detail and as many personal experiences as possible.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

in Epcot.....Buffet.....the German food (also alot for children too) the entertainment.......including bringing the kids down on the floor to help out with the dancing.....it was fantastic........the seating is good in all areas.......and the food was excellent.........we had a great time......

That's one I wouldn't of thought of to visit, thanks for the suggestion.

The past two times I've been to WDW, it seems I always went to the same restaurants. I'm looking to add some variety - Thanks again.

was in MGM studios........Hollywood and Vine.......one was a vegetarian.....one was on a diet.......one 85 years old and then us and the kids.........good selection on a buffet.......plenty of meat and chicken and salmon.....salads.......good selection for the kids.......and the desserts were fantastic.......also a big ice cream makings bar......with anything you can think of.........Now we had a good time here too.....and got a back door pass to Fantasmic......cost is the same by the way.......

We have a 2yo son.

Our family favorites have been:

Character Meal
Chef Mickeys - Had a great time, went for breakfast, took one of the latest seatings so when everybody ran for the parks- we had all the characters to ourselves just about, had some amazing interactions with Mickey and my son - 1 on 1 playtime!!, my son is STILL obsessed with Mickey after that!

Non-character Meal
Teppanyaki - in the Japan pavillion, my son loved watching the chef prepare our meal, especially the way he banged the utensils on the cooking surface, kept trying to imitate throwing the salt shaker into the air LOL

Whispering Canyons - WL Resort, Lots of food he could eat with his hands and he enjoyed the activities they had for kids perioducally throughout the meal

We have been to lots of other places, but you didn't mention how old the kids were or where you had been previously.

Thanks again for the feedback.

My kids will be 5,3 and 2. The five year old has experienced Chef Mickey's for dinner, lunch with Pooh at the Cyrstal Palace and Ohana for dinner at Poly. The 3 and 2 year old will be their first visit.

Do they do the singing and dancing for breakfast at Chef Mickey's? I know my 5 year old loved that last time.

Our favorite character breakfast is Donald's at AK. From my 4 year old son to my 67 year old dad this is everyones favorite!

Our favorite character dinner is Chef Mickey's. Again, everyone in our family loves the food & fun.

At Epcot, we like San Angel in Mexico for lunch. The atmosphere is the best around (& the margaritas are pretty good, too!).

At MK, we like the Crystal Palace for dinner. I know, another character dinner, but we have a 4 year old who loves the characters!

One place that I've read lots of good things about, but have never been is Beeches & Cream. I checked out the menu & it looks yummy. The pictures I've seen make it look like it would have a nice atmosphere. Again, I've never tried it, but we are going to try it on our next trip!

 Have a Great Trip!

Chef Mickey's is the best - they do the napkin twirling both meals

LTT - great meals, esp. dinner w/characters

O'hana's - great character breakfast and fun games at dinner

Ice Cream Social - the land Epcot - cheap money to have icecream w/characters

Storybook breakfast/Epcot - gotta see the princesses and can't always get CRT

DHBelle,

Thanks for the info, those are some places I've never tried before.

Another thumbs up for 'Ohana. DH and I did alone last year and loved it. Something for everyone among the all-you-can-eat selections, plus activities for the kids.

This year, we will be there with my Brother, Nephew, Sister-in-law, her Mom, and Nephew's best friend and her folks (they just happen to be going the same time we are!) I have no doubt that all nine of us will have a wonderful time.

twotoohappy,

I LOVE your signature. This is the song that my daughter (5yo) absolutely LOVES. She sings it with Scar when she hears it every time when we play it in the car. GREAT lyrics!!!!

We like 50's Prime Diner and Kona's food.
