I made my kids pillowcases with their names that I was going to have the characters sign. Need recommendations on what is a good fabric marker that won't fade & is easy for characters to sign. I already purchased fabric markers made by sharpie called Stained, but now that I look at them they have a paintbrush type tip that I think would be really hard for characters to sign their names with, so I think I need to buy a different kind. What have you used & had success with? Also how do you have the characters sign pillowcases or shirts? I've thought of bringing a clipboard so the have a hard surface to write on (& to prevent bleed through) but that will be a hassle to carry around the parks all day.

I am still working on the marker portion of your question as we are doing the same thing. But as for how they sign I bought a small embroidery hoop that will hold the fabric taunt for them to sign. This way I can move the hoop around too so that I get signatures all over and not on top of each other. I'd say the hoop I bought was about 4-6 inches.

The embroidery hoop is a great idea! I am planning on ordering a cinch sack type backpack for DD to have signed.

We've used the Sharpie Stained fabric pens before and they worked well.

Great idea, I'll have to check out Hobby Lobby or Michaels for one of them. Sounds much easier than carrying a clipboard!! Hopefully someone can chime in about marker brands. Now I have also bought Tulip branded fabric marker & maybe I got a bad batch but the colors were really dried out.
