Best FAA Approved Carseats????

Hey guys,
Just wondering if someone on this board knows of carseats that are FAA approved....I posted this on the families board and someone said this was posted back in February but the thread is already gone.....Please help me I don't know if their is a list somewhere or what, but I am having trouble finding this.....Thanks guys......It is for my two year old son.

All car seats are approved by the Department of Transportation. The FAA is part of the DOT, so all car seats can be used on aircraft (check the lable on the back of the seat).

Be prepared, you will be required to place the car seat in the seat against the window. This is to keep the seat from hindering your exit during an emergency evacuation. I find this very anoying as only one parent has easy access to the child.

No, sorry, not ALL carseats sold in the US are approved for aircraft use, though most infant and toddler seats are. For example, there are a couple of Britax models that are not, mostly because of their size.

There is no list, the FAA won't issue one because they are concerned that such a list might confuse people if certain seats are recalled for other safety reasons. If the seat has the red-lettering "approved for use in motor vehicles and aircraft" sticker on it, then you can use it on a US carrier as long as you have purchased a seat for it. (If you didn't purchase a seat, the airline has the discretion to refuse to allow it on board. They usually don't if there is an empty seat available, but realize that they legally can.) The outside of the box the seat is sold in should state whether it is approved, but if not, ask the store if you can open the box to check. (The display model should show it, too.)
