Looking for good places outside DL to eat for dinner, good value for the quality of food? Is there a Olive Garden nearby, or has anyone eaten at Joe's Crab shack? Thanks for your help.....only 3 days to go woohoo!!!!:bounce:

Behind Disneyland on Ball road is the Spahgetti Station. It has numerous kinds of sauces to choose from, good meatballs and some other items on the menue which I don't remember because I love spahgetti! Prices are decent here.
On Harbor Blvd next to Disneyland is Mimi's Cafe. It has a casual atmosphere and a nice varied menue. Food is pretty good and prices are good.
Down Harbor Blvd, about a mile or so south from Disneyland there are a few new restaurants. I don't know what they all are but I know there is an Outback.

We have eaten at Joes in Las Vegas and LOVE it. The atmosphere for kids is lots of fun. The wait staff sings and dances to the music. They have mainly sea food, but there are a few chicken meals. I have never eaten a bad thing there. The crab legs are great BBQ. I also love the grilled tuna and the swordfish. The prices range 15.00-20.00 for and adult meal.

Better cheaper prices and good meal is at Red Robin. They are a TGI Fridays/Chili's/Applebees type of place. They serve chicken, burgers, fish and chips, salads that type of place. Prices are about 10.00 for an adult meal. 5.00 for a kids meal w/ drink. I think it is near the Joes. We have Red Robin in Boise and eat there a few times a month.

We hit Joe's in October and were completely unimpressed. The wait staff was unattentive and the food was very mediocre (felt like it would be the same if the dishes were offered at Denny's).

In that area, I would recommend Buca de Beppo. The Italian food there is more authentic and the atmostphere is a blast. It's all served family style with huge poritions.

If you have a large party, you could request the Pope table or otherwise try for the kitchen table, where you actually eat in the kitchen.

If you go East from the main entrance plaza and cross Harbor Blvd at the crosswalk, you'll be withing walking distance to these restaurants:
(Listed North to South)

Mimi's Cafe - I've never eaten there, so can't comment.

Millie's - Great food, lots of it. Huge French Dips and homemade cinnamon rolls in the morning. If you stay at the Fairfield Inn, they'll deliver to your room.

McDonalds - Close to regular menu prices.

Mom's - Pizza/Buffet/Restaurant. They run a buffet that I've tried a few times. Nothing spectacular, but the price is right. Kids eat free with each paying adult.

IHOP - I won't eat here because their prices are WAY jacked up and I'm not crazy about IHOP anyways.

Denny's - I won't eat here because their prices are WAY jacked up too and I'm not crazy about Denny's food either.

Tony Roma's - Great food! Full Bar. The best ribs!
I'll phone in a to go order from the phones by DCA guest relations (quiet back there) and by the time I walk to the restaurant, the order's ready.

Here's another good idea, it's only a few blocks away but you'll have to drive there. There's a Hometown Buffet at 1630 West Katella Avenue in the Euclid Shopping Center between
Sav-On and Food 4 Less.

I hope this helps.

That's too bad to hear that about Joe's. We loves the one in Las Vegas.

We ate at the Bucca in Las Vegas and I was not impressed w/ all the food. Our pizza was very thin (may have been the way it was ordered, I was away from the table at the time) and the mashed potatoes were cold, but we had this spiral noodle chicken thing that has a red sauce they mix w/ heavy cream. WOW was it yummy. The prices were good and there was a bunch of food. I just like thicker pizza.

There is also a chinese place that has had decent reviews and a subway walking distnace from the park.

If you go to www.anaheimoc.org they have a shoping restaurant map you can print that lists close places.

Pizza is a tough thing. It's best left to your local favorite. It seems odd that preparations of dough, tomato sauce, and cheese could be so very different. I've yet to find a decent replacement since I left home for college 15 years ago. The pizza at Beppo's is more of the wood-fired kind meant to be prepared in a jiffy as more of an appetizer than a main course.

I really like their chicken vesuvio. My wife agreed that it is to die for. The canolli was awesome.

The atmosphere is quite an adventure. Even a trip to the bathroom is an interesting experience.

I'm not sure if there's one near DL, but I like Claim Jumper. HUGE portions, and tasty.

I was pretty impressed with some of the places in DD, the food was good, and not too pricey. I liked Naples, where we had lunch one day. BF ordered a pizza, and he only ate half! I ordered lasagna and only ate the whole thing because it tasted so good!

Also, and I know some people may disagree on the food quality, but I really like Rainforest Cafe, which is also in DD. Very large portions, and I thought it was quite tasty. While the portions are just as large at ESPN, the taste was just "okay" and the service not too great either.

I really wish Y'Arriba hadn't closed, that was a great value! And you could try lots of things since they were appetizer-sized portions, without spending a lot.

We really enjoyed La Brea Bakery's sit down lunch,in DTD, we had the pinnie sandwichs,Which were soooooooo, gooooood, even the salad was very tasty, the dressing was to die for! I found that meal to be very filling and carried me further thru the day! And for Disney very reasonable.

Love's Restaurant (on Harbor, I think) is great, and a good deal, too.
