I graduate this December and my birthday is 2 days after graduation so I plan on going to Disney for 3 days as a b-day gift to myself then fly to New York as a college graduation gift to to myself. Anyways I was wondering which DVC resort is the nicest in the December weather and has the best holiday decorations??? The DVC resorts are (even though most might not be available) Fort Wilderness, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Bay Lake Tower, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Beach Club and Boardwalk

In December, we like the DVCs in this order:
VWL
BWV
AKV
BCV and then any of the others.

You can visit them all...Congratulations on your graduation. I hope you get something. Call ASAP!!!

Hands down - Wilderness Lodge! It can't be beat in our opinion!!

I think it's whichever one you can get. ;) Unfortunately December is busy and it's a little short notice, but best of luck!

yea the only studio available is OKW but im sure there wil be one cancellation between now and December 13th, hopefully I am lucky and catch it....How is OKW??

We love OKW! It's our home resort and there is such a wonderful, laid-back atmosphere there.

It is condo-style, rather than hotel-style and is built throughout the Lake Buena Vista golf course. It is themed to the Florida Keys so all of the buildings are pastel-hued.

Studio rooms offer 2 queen beds, a kitchenette, a table and 2 chairs and small table w/chairs on the balcony.

Transportation to the parks is via bus. To get to Downtown Disney you can also take a bus, or you can take the wonderful boat ride. It's very relaxing and we try to do it at least once on every trip.

Hopefully you'll enjoy OKW as much as we do. Make sure you waitlist at other properties if you are interested in staying elsewhere.

Are you trying to get something on points? There are waitlists in December, so you won't necessarily get a cancellation unless you are on the waitlist.

We are planning a Dec. 2010 trip- our home resort is SSR- Should I book that at 11 months out and then at 7 months try and get the BCV-which is our favorite resort?

The best Christmas theming isn't the DVC resorts but the other deluxe resorts. That makes the best DVC locations, VWL, BWV, BCV and AKV Jambo House.

Yes, but this is a time of year when waitlists often don't work when you get on them at seven months. December and F&W disappointments are the reason for many a BCV/BWV add on - and December for VWL.

Just so you know, Ft Wilderness is not a DVC resort. You must be thinking about the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

Thanks-I will book SSR then in February and can then only hope for the best-my thinking is that we are planning a first week of December trip so I hope this will be in our favor.
