My boys are addicted to the water parks, but I want to have more non park days next year. They love MGM and like EPCOT, but are tired of MK and AK. Is BCV or BWV better? I know that people really like SAB, but are there other kids activities there.
How long is the walk to MGM and EPCOT and would you do it at night?

Sounds like your plans are a perfect fit for BCV. SAB is a built-in water theme-park and it's only a 5-minute walk to Epcot (if that).

Not even close, BCV is the best for teens. I brought my 3 nephews and they loved SAB and walking around the BW (looking for girls). Hope you go when its warm...

Agreed. BCV is a slam-dunk for your group.

I was actually thinking BWV would be a good fit. My 11 year old DS loves the Boardwalk games and side shows as well as the ESPN arcade.

The clown pool is fun and Community Hall has the many activities to keep him busy while we are at the quiet pool.

I would do the MGM & Epcot walks at night. Plenty of lights and I have never felt uncomfortable doing these walks.

Enjoy :wave2:

I'm a very happy BCV owner, but if you want good access to MGM, there is no substitute for BWV. It's a LOT closer to MGM than BCV is, invaluable for those MGM days when you want to be near the front of the line for the dash to TOT and RnR. And BWV is almost as close to Epcot as BCV.

I have two boys ages 15 and 12 and they love the BWV because of Community Hall, the Swimming pools, the Boardwalk, ESPN and the proximity to MGM.

Community Hall is the single biggest reason. It is fantastic in their eyes and mine.

The best resort for teenage and pre-teen boys is any one that I am not staying at. I need my sleep!

My DS (13) prefers BWV to BCV and always has. Community Hall is great for kids and they have activities scheduled throughout the day. There is so much activity in that area.

Personally, I do not think that you could go wrong with either of these resorts.

Tired of MK?? Sounds like you might have to leave them at home! :p

Actually, you can't go wrong with either BCV or BWV. I would suggest that if SAB is a big deal, then go with BCV. If the Community Hall is a big draw, then go that route. My pre-teens (now teens) loved BWV so much we got a resale contract there. But I can certainly see the appeal of SAB too.

I wonder if SSR will start to get noticed as a great place for teens, considering it's closeness to DTD. Disney Quest, stores and restaurants - sort of like a "Disney" mall.

Doc, I was thinking the same thing. Don't forget the movies and the proximity of the WP's. If the OP had said teen instead of preteen, I would have recommended SSR.

Thanks for all the replies. I am leaning towards BWV but I will have to see what is available at the 7 month mark. My kids have never seen SAB so they might be content with the pool at BWV.

BTW, what kinds of activities do the have at the community hall at BWV?

They have ping pong, an air hockey table, a table top hockey game, video games and an arts and crafts corner. They also have noodles to use in the pool. You can buy popcorn and soda there as well. Probably more that I can't remember.
