Best DVC resort bus service?

I was also told that OKW does not have elevators. That's one of the reasons we've never stayed there.
There are a couple buildings at OKW that do have elevators, plus about a third of the resort is on the ground level. A request for "elevator or ground" shouldn't be hard to get.

Good to know about the elevators! Hadn't thought about that!

I appreciate all the feedback. I know that every situation is different. We are going jan 11-18th... I know the first weekend won't be good transportation wise bc of the marathon. At this point, I have to see what I can get less than 6 months out. The people we are renting from own at ssr.

The resorts that are running resorts and those close to a park will probably be full by the time you are booking unless you are looking for a split stay. I would guess your choices at the time will be OKW, SSR, AKV, and BWV (garden view). I have actually never had a problem with buses at OKW, SSR, or AKV (although I prefer Kidani). I think the longest I have waited for any bus at these resorts is 20 minutes and that was an unusual case. Getting back to resorts I have had some problems for many if I am leaving the park before 11am. I have only had 1 first floor villa at OKW that wasn't HA- which you might not like because of the lack of a tub and the slipperiness of the bathroom floor after showering.

Elevators are usually reserved for medical needs.

We have been many times since our DS was 1. While VWL is a great resort and nice and quiet, it still can take a bit of time for the boats.
I would recommend staying at BLT. There is NOTHING like the ability to walk back to your resort for expedient napping! But be aware it is a bit noisier when the fireworks go off at MK although our DS was so tired he always slept right through it. The inside rooms are a bit quieter.

This is true when you are at the Magic Kingdom, but the double monorail ride from Epcot and the less than great bus service to the other parks make BLT no better than some of the more remote DVC resorts.

All of the resorts have their plusses and minuses but, in the end, the transportation is about equal at all of them.

From BLT you can easily walk to the bus section at MK to get a bus pretty much anywhere! Didn't I read somewhere that you can get park transfer busses from there now instead of TTC? The OP said three days at MK was in the plan. Plus you can monorail or boat to three other resorts.

We have taken our four kids to WDW each year for the past 5 years. Our youngest two are now 6 & 4. Each trip I had my citi mini double stroller with us. We have stayed at SSR, BLT several times, and OKW. This years trip is at VWL. We find that when most of your time is going to be spent at MK, then it is best to do BLT.
the monorail, and the ability to walk to the park are perfect. I actually like the walk better because it can sometimes be quicker than the monorail. It also makes it so convenient to just leave the park to take a nap, then head back over later. SSR buses are super crowded, and it can take 20min just to get out of the resort. OKW was a great resort. We did split stay with BLT last year. Buses run often, and are never crowded. The rooms are huge, plenty of space for little ones to play. We asked for a ground level room near the bus stop. That worked out great because we just rolled our double stroller into the room, and left it by the door. Yes, the room is that big if you get a one bedroom.
This year we are staying at VWL. it's a short trip because we are cruising also. We didn't have the points for BLT again, and I would like a change of scene. Still we needed quick easy stroller access to MK, where most of our time will be spent. IMHO, VWL is second best for MK visits to BLT.
The biggest problem with the buses is not the wait. It is having to take two sleeping kids out of the stroller, folding the stroller, and carrying it on board the bus. Not easy with just two adults.
