Best DVC Rental for kids

Considering renting points for our upcoming 2017 trip and can't decide which resort. I'm it will be 2 adults and 1 child age 9 at the time of the trip. I love Beach Club because of the pool but wondering everyone else's thoughts too.

BCV and BLT are often popular choices for families with children.

Also, don't overlook AKL, having animals outside the room can make a great impression on some children, and Kidani has a nice pool, too. (Although parents might complain more about park proximity from AKL)

It depends on what you're looking for.
We liked our stay at OKW for the larger accommodations - lots of room for kids to play inside and it felt like a neighborhood outside and the pool activities there are the only ones that appealed to our kids. But for ease of getting to a park, BLT (for MK) and BCV (for Epcot and DS) would "win" if that's your priority. Our favorite resort for theme and resort activities is AKL - and animals right outside our villa was great, but the walk from the buses to our villa in Kidani was loooong. Above poster is correct about the pool at kidani.
For truth in advertising, our home resort is BCV and we do like that it has the lazy river in addition to slide and pools; but we spend much more time in the parks than in the pool. Our deciding factor was the walk to international gateway at Epcot, our fave park; and when the kids were little, the walk to DS with loaded stroller...
Another consideration might be how much shopping do you want to have close-by. Do you need a mini-convenience store and good grab-n-go food area on your way between buses and your room? Do you want to be near Disney Springs (formerly DTD) for more variety in shopping and resaurants? How do you feel about the QS and TS dining options at each resort that you're considering? What does your child like to eat - do they have any dietary restrictions? (We like to stay where we can get BabyCakes allergy friendly treats) You have to determine what you are looking for and I hope some of the above is helpful to you.

I am a big fan of AKL Kidani. The pool is nice and watching the animals in the morning is amazing. Great way to wake up and start the day.

I own at VWL since 2000 and have stayed there exactly 1 time....we stayed with our toddlers at OKW way back then and fell in love with the place....it is IMO the best family resort on property

We have 4 children 14,13,10,6..if it was up to them, they would pick BCV everytime lol They love the location and the pool.
Their favorites in order are..BCV, BWV, AKL Kidani, WLV, OKW, BLT, SSR...We havent stayed at VGF or Poly

If you need to watch your kid in the pool every minute, and want to do it from a lounge chair, SAB will drive you insane - it has horrible "watching kids" sight lines.

This is an absolute truth.

With a 9-year-old, you are probably fine without a full eagle eye, and there are lifeguards of course. Child is too big for the children's splash areas.

With a kid that age, I'd do BCV or BWV. I'm on record as thinking BLT studios are too small.

I also like VWL except, like, construction. That's a fun pool and I like the theming.

We own at BLT and LOVE being able to walk to the Magic Kingdom. No monorail or buses to deal with to come back to the resort for naps. The monorail is convenient but it seems to break down a lot as it ages. We also stayed at the Poly in a lakeview studio for a couple of nights recently and it was a terrific resort with fun water play area for young kids. Maybe consider a split stay if you cannot decide?

We are finishing up day 8 of a 12 day stay at DW. First 4 at AKV Kidani in a savanna view studio, check out of our studio villa at Polynesian tomorrow and will end with 4 days in a 1bd pool view at BWV. We have stayed at OKW and at BLT in the past as well as a treehouse villa. I asked my boys (10 and 13) what is their favorite and they both said AKV because of the animals.
