I wanted to try one of those but I chickened out. Now I hate myself.

Yum!!! Thats what I had! It was fantastic! I could use about 10 of them.... wish they delivered! :)

I'm thinkin' they should just hook them directly into IV's.

Oh darlin'. You don't know what you're missin'. :teeth:

As many have said before, yes the resort drink menu's have been "globalized". But the good news is the current menu has some great offerings, including a very popular "anti-oxident" cocktail.

But most restaurants still offer one to up to 6 drinks that are special to that resort. You can always ask a bartender for something that is no longer on the menu, many of them have the drinks memorized from years ago!

Funny note about drinks at Disney....there is a whole group of "Monorail" Drinks! Monorail red, purple and yellow come to mind. You could probably get those at the Contemporary for sure!

I like the one (I think it's called a Pinapple Dreammmm) at the Barefoot Bar at the Poly. It's made with Dole Whip!! :hyper:

Whhhhat!?!? If I had known those were made with Dole Whip.......I'm sure I would've had 4 or 5.

Thank you ALL!! After reading these last few posts, I've gained 5 LBS for sure, just THINKING about those yummy drinks! I've got it all written down, and now, we just wait till Aug! Wishing we could all be there to have a few toasts together! I promise, Christy & I will have a few for you guys!;)

Interesting! Do you know what's in them? Or sorta kinda know?

My faves aren't in resorts, so perhaps that's why I'm not in mourning. We had a Lapu Lapu the last time we were at the poly -- loved it! It was a bit on the sweet side for me, tho. I'm not big on the super sweet drinks. Dirty Martinis are more my style!

I don't feel like I'm there until I've had one of these from the kiosk in Mexico:

And I second the Grand Marnier in France, shown here with a lovely pomegranate kir, ala F&W festival:

Those are my two faves, hands down. But, boys and girls, you can go BROKE buying those things. $9 a pop!! :scared:

I love both of those. In fact I was just thinking about hitting the liquor store to get some champagne and the pomegranate stuff so I can make them. I'm not big on the pre-made frozen drinks but I do love the Grand Marnier slush. When I'm staying at the Boardwalk I have to stop by the Bellvue for a pina colava (think that's what it's called).

As long as I can still find Yuengling I will be ok.:thumbsup2

I had never tried Yuengling until I went to grad school in Virginia and I totally miss it. Now I can't find it anywhere near where I live. It's sad.

I'm a big fan of trying out the different kinds of beer at the World Showcase. I get tipsy really easily though, so I never quite make it as far around the world as I would like.

We are going on our first adult trip in September and can't wait to try all the yummy suggestions. Thanks to Soulmates for asking! BTW: We're from the Raleigh area too! Glad to see some Dis folk here!

Soooo wishing you girls could go w/ us...can you imagine all the laughing?? One day, and ohhhh the fun we'll have!!:cool1:

I'm usually a stickler when it comes to beverages of the alcoholish kind. :snooty: For example, I hate it when restaurants will refer to a Cosmopolitan as a "martini" just because it's served in a maritini glass. To me, it ain't a martini unless it's either gin or vodka with dry vermouth.....and olive brine is okay too if that happens to be your thing.

However......as odd as it might sound, some of the best margaritas I've had have been at Chipotle. ::yes:: (I know, I know. A counter service restaurant of all places.) Even the tasty Mexican restaurant/bar that used to be down the street from me couldn't touch them. (And they even had about 30 kinds of tequilla in their arsenal.) Maybe I like the ones at Chipotle because the one by me makes them really strong. After just one I'm usually buzzy.

I'm not sure how the frozen margaritas at the Mexico kiosk compare since I haven't tried them, but they seem to have gotten several votes. I want to try one the next time I go.

I'll have to let my DP know...she LOVES those frosty drinks!!
