My friend and I will be visiting DTD in mid-May and I have never been before. We are celebrating and I'd like to have a nice dinner in the area. I'm OK with quick service if its a better selection but I was thinking dinner and a drink might be nice.

Open to any reviews or recommendations! TIA!

It really depends on your tastes. We are sit down people, we tend to prefer Naples and Tortilla Jo's. Ralph Brennan's is also very good. Catal and Uva are also good. We are looking to try Ballast soon.

Naples and Ballast Point

At Naples I like the ravioli, they also have a nice wine selection.

Ballast point has good nachos, wings, and beer

Our favorite DTD restaurant is the 2nd floor of Catal. Maybe it will be open come mid May.

To crystal1313’s point, check out the menus and go with sounds good! 🥂

I like Ballast Point, Naples is good, not a fan of Uva and I've never eaten at Catal's due to the fact that much of the menu doesn't appeal to me. Anway, my personal favorite is Ralph Brennan's, though I have certain items in particular that I love and I'm not sure if they're serving them now. They are the medallions (filet mignon) and a pre-ordered dessert of chocolate bread pudding, as long as it's still made the same way they used to which is basically a souffle into which you pour chocolate and you can have a side scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. I share all of that with my sister.

If you want something "nice" for a special occasion, check out the restaurants in the Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian rather than DTD. If you just want regular food and drinks with an outdoor mall environment, any of the DTD places is fine. I'd say none of them is special but they're all good. The food at Black Tap is the most my style.

Another vote here for Catal - but be aware, the pricing can be quite expensive compared to others in the area. Despite that, the food is absolutely delicious, service levels are fantastic too, so you get your money's worth for very special occasions.

Those are closed for now. Since the trip is in May, it's unlikely they will be open yet.

are there tables to eat at outside in DTD? specifically, I mean are there tables that are not connected to the individual restaurants? i haven't been since about 2006, so can't recall.

we looked at food options in the park and there really doesn't look to be much open that we would be into. as far as reopening changes, i think the food options are likely my biggest disappointment. not really many of the "healthier" food options will be open. plaza in with only fried chicken? really? that just sucks....
