Best DOWNTOWN DISNEY Resort/Best price?

Hi..I am having a difficult time getting all the info I need to help me make a decision on which Downtown Disney hotel to stay in....Which do you like the best for families with kids(4 & 10) and which has the lowest prices? I almost booked on one of those sites that offer you a mystery hotel (in DTD) for $59, but was too afraid to book it...maybe i can get cheaper!? Opinions please! Thanks!

Not really an expert on this, but I think I've heard that the usual mystery DTD hotel deal is the Grosvenor. I've heard good and bad reviews on that one, never stayed there or seen it. From what I've read about scary experiences with off-site properties, I'd do a lot of research and pick one I wanted, rather than betting on some too good to be true deal.

If you check Mousesavers.com you'll find Hotel Royal Plaza (just totally renovated) is offering some really great prices for August and September. Looks like a very nice place...

Try the Orlando Attractions & Resort forum. DTD is considered "off property" so you may have better luck searching on that forum. I've booked the Doubletree Suites, never been there, but I've heard good reviews. We wanted a suite style room rather than a regular hotel room. We got it for $85/night & free breakfast. Mousesavers.com offers info & discount for DTD resorts & there is also info on allearsnet.com about them. good luck searching.
