I'm on a search for maps of each park - and there is no shortage of them, including the DIS.

But the ones i'm seeing are essentially PDF files that don't display well on a phone. Either you get the whole thing on one page (and can't read it) or you have to scroll around a lot.

What I'd like I guess is more of an app than a map. Sort of a Google Maps and the like - where you can either tell it location and destination and it shows the route - or just look up something and it pinpoints it.

I'm using Touring Guides and the one thing it really lacks on the phone/tablet app is the map it shows you on the website once you decide on a plan. And while the maps on the website can be saved, it doesn't include the step numbers. (However, you CAN save the whole plan as a PDF which I guess is better than nothing).

Still, I'm surprised no one has come up with a better app for getting around the World. Any suggestions?

(And yes - I realize many people on here would say "Maps? We don't need no stinkin' maps!")

I've never heard of such a thing for a phone though it may exist. I would think the screen is just too small to be useful. Just use the maps you get when you enter a park.

Google maps might actually work. Set the route on a computer and then send it to your account on the phone. That may work. Google maps does walking routes and you can zoom into the parks.

I'll try the Google Maps walking route - but I doubt they have the parks mapped out like they do streets.

You can use the My Disney Experience app to get directions.

And... you are right! Pretty cool!

I wonder in the Magic Kingdom if the general rule of thumb is -
if the next attraction is in an adjacent land, then walk directly to it;
if it's more than one land away, use the castle hub.

It's important to us - but not because we're rushing commando style from step 1 to 2 etc. It's that we'll have 2 small children (in strollers) and simply want to minimize steps (esp in the heat of July).

You can get the same info from the free maps at the parks. IMHO, it's easier than looking at your phone.

I don't see directions in MDE - I see the map of course. And we're pretty familiar with the layout of the parks - though it's been about 7 years since we've been there and a lot has changed.

Again, I'm not looking for a map with the location of the attractions - I realize that there are dozens of options for that. I mean shortest walking distance from A to B.

It appears Google Maps actually works well for this. you can enter in most attractions and it shows the fastest walking path.

On the Disney App, you can click on an attraction and then click to get directions. It does not work well outside of physically being in the parks.

For MK, I only use the hub to transfer if the attractions are on opposite sides of the castle. Sometimes the hub is not a quick cut through due to the number of people that congregate there, especially for castle shows.

FWIW....in the app, on the map, click an attraction, click “Get Directions”. The maps in the app (and probably the directions) are powered by Google.

Screenshot examples below.

No personal experience as to the accuracy of said directions.

Aside from crazy, roundabout routes I think the differences between going from A to B is not much of a material difference.

Ah - now I get it (for MDE); it doesn't give directions from one point to another, but it WILL give you directions from your current location to wherever you choose. Perfect!

Thanks much!

And I see this works fine for point A to point b; for example, I clicked on Peter Pan's Flight, then get directions, then it gave a blank spot to type in. I typed Space Mountain, it came up in a list to select, and then it gave me directions from Space Mt to Peter Pan.

Again - this is perfect and is something lacking from the Touring Plans app (though I assume they realize anyone using their app will be using MDE as well, so why duplicate it.)

Again - thanks. This is perfect, and I had no idea it was there!
