Best Double Stroller out there right now if you are on a budget

I just found out I am pregnant and being the planner that I am, I am already thinking about what kind of stroller I will need. My youngest will only be 2 1/2 when their new brother or sis comes along so I will likely want a double. What kind of double stroller does everyone here have and what do you reccommend I look for? Is side by side or the one in front of the other kind better? I have a limited budget (Preferably under $200) but I still want something that is good quality and reliable.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you aren't opposed to used I would check out your local craigslist.com on a regular basis. I recently purchased another Graco Duo Glide (I had one before and sold it) for our upcoming December trip for $15!!! I see all kinds of double strollers listed on there including Peg Perego, Maclaren and other top brands selling for much less than it would cost you to buy new.

I really liked our Duo Glider which is a front back stroller.

Congrats and best wishes for happy and healthy pregnancy!

I also like the Duo Glide front and back. We have the Blackwell print andIpaid $250 for it.. but it came with the infant carseat which I sold for 50.00 after we were done with it.

With the way stores are set up these days I dont like the side by side. YOu cant get down an aisle.

Although I do agree that it can be difficult maneuvering a side by side while shopping, my vote still goes for that one. I have 5 and a half year old twins. Before they were born, someone bought me the $400 Peg Perego front to back. Once they were born, I realized I needed both of them to be able to recline until they were old enough to sit up, so I bought an inexpensive "temporary" side by side stroller, a Graco, for about $110 brand new. I still use that stroller to this day (although I admit it's on its last legs by this point; we put a beating to it!) The good part is there is no arguing over who sits in front, but the best part is the underneath storage, which is great for shopping. The storage basket on the front to back Peg Perego was a joke; I still have that stroller also, but it's barely ever been used. Just my two cents...

Congrats!
We had the Combi and although I have heard poor reviews of it, I absolutely loved it. It is relatively light weight and folds up very small. Maclarens are expensive but IMHO are the best (I have used many different double strollers). You can probably find a used one within your budget as a pp mentioned. I personally like the side by side. Many of them are lighter than the tandem. My kids prefer the side by side particularly since the one in the back seemed cramped. Since your older child is 2.5 I think you will get longer use out of the side by side.
GL!

I am definitely not opposed to used so I will check out craigs list. Are side by sides easy to manuver? What does everyone think about using 2 strollers instead of a double? I am concerned about ease of use as I already have enough problems with my single umbrella stroller (Chicco I think) though I do travel without dh sometimes. My dd 7 will likely be a help but asking her to manuver one stroller while I have the other might be a little much. Please keep sharing your own personal experiences, it really helps!

Thanks for the good wishes. I actually haven't even told anyone I am pregnant (other than dh of course!) as I had a miscarriage a few years back but it feels good to share the news somewhere and as much as I am trying to temper my enthusiasm, I just can't stop myself from embracing this pregnancy and planning for the baby's arrival in our lives.
