I am normally a WDW person - but have a 2 day layover in LA later in the year and thought I would spend it at DL :)

I've been there a few times, always staying at a good neighbor hotel, so have never been in any of the hotels on site.

I am leaning towards Grand Californian but not sure if it is worth the $$$s?

Any advice appreciated :)

I have stayed at The Disneyland Hotel solo for the DL 1/2 Marathon weekend. It was wonderful! I was planning on staying at Paradise Pier solo for this coming year's race but had to defer. I was looking forward to that too. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of the DLR hotels by myself. Yes, GC is closer but the others are just as nice. It's up to you whether it's worth the extra money. You can't go wrong with any of them!

I stayed solo at the DLH for my birthday last year and it was so nice. The view around the pool and such is so beautiful just sitting outside and taking it all in. I talked to A LOT of CMs and they were all super nice and fun.
