Best Disney World Resort For Halloween

Which of the Disney World Resorts is the best for a Halloween trip? also 1st thread here!

I am a veteran Disney World goer, this will make our 6yo daughters 3rd trip and my 9th. We have never gone during Halloween and were wondering which resort puts on the best spirit of the holiday?

looking at event inteneraries past most seem to have the same basic combo of stuff going. if there was any resort special enough for the holiday that it could influence our choice.

right now our short list in no particular order is(include the attached DVC properties)
Grand Floridian
Wilderness Lodge
yacht club (for the pool)
Animal Kingdom lodge
contemporary

only requirement my wife has is that we need a separate bedroom, kids on the sofa-bed.
the handyness of the monorail strongly puts the big 3 in front, but I hear great things about both the Animal kingdom's hotel and the wilderness lodge. the boat from the lodge would be fun to take.

We like the boardwalk, we have actually went there on Halloween even when we were staying at another resort So based on your list I would vote for YC.

CR/BLT - you can walk to the Mk.... the only resorts that is possible.

you can boat over to WL and do the haunted carriage ride (if they still do it)

We were at AKL for Halloween and it was great! They had a staff pumpkin decorating contest set up in the lobby and we got to vote for the winners! We actually did MNSSHP that day so we werent at the resort ON Haloween night, but the whole time of year was awesome!

We loved WL during Halloween last year, and the boat ride was wonderful to MNSSHP. Plus the resort is well-suited to the Fall feel.

We went to WDW many, many times during October when our kids were younger (it was our favorite time of year there!). For us, the resort that won out was CR. We even did a split-stay one time just so we could stay at CR on the night we went to the Halloween party! When it came down to it, convenience was a HUGE factor with young kids and a late party. We found that we stayed at MK longer because we knew we had an easy walk back to our resort. We had a double jogger at the time, so when it got late and the kids were exhausted, they could recline and relax in the jogger and we could walk around the park longer and enjoy the atmosphere/snacks/fun.
