Hello,
I am a vet at disney theme parks but never had any experience in water parks.

Which water park do you think is better?

Blizzard Beach
Typhoon lagoon

Thanks so much!

I have only been to Typhoon Lagoon. We really enjoyed it. I am not much of a water park girl, but I have to say, Disney really knows how to do it. We had a variety of ages (4mth, 4yrs, 30's and 50's) and everyone had a great time. I would highly recommend TL!! Good luck!

I think it depends on your group and the theme you would like.

BB:
Cartoonish and fun feel
Gentle bobbing wave pool
Large and well planned kiddie area that can't be beat !!
Fun pre-teen area full of activities (5-11 years old)
Lazy River
Awesome Family Raft ride
Lots of slides for everyone !

TL:
Lush tropical feel
Powerful wave pool great for good and adventure seeking swimmers
Expanded the kiddie area from early years but we think it's too congested
Some say the slides are gentler overall for the pre-teen group
Lazy River
Shark Reef which is very cool
Lots of slides for everyone !

Thanks so much!
I really have no idea what they have there. My friend asked me to find out which one people like best... :)

Thanks a lot for your responses.

:thumbsup2 You can't go wrong with either. I thought TL was less crowded than BB, but BB had better rides. The wave pool at TL is great. Overall, if I had to choose one, Id pick Blizzard Beach. Hope this helps! Either way - enjoy!

Blizzard...Just because of Summit Plummit... :thumbsup2

the best park is river country. it is too bad that no one else thought so.

We visited both parks last week and loved both. However, I think we liked TL a little bit better than BB. TL had the shark reef which was really cool. It also had the water coasters which were very fun. The giant wave pool was fun and it was hilarious to watch everyone play in the waves. One interesting note-we thought the water at TL was warmer than at BB-I don't know if this is always true. I don't think you can go wrong at either park.

Travel Channel tonight had Blizzard Beach rated the #2 water park in the United States. Typhoon Lagoon was not in the top 10.

But we've never been to either so I can't give you any personal experiences. I know nothing about either of them. But DS 12 said we are definitely going to Blizzard Beach on our next trip after watching Travel Channel.

Depends of course. Hopperfan already added a good list to check.

Me, I love TL the most. Love the pool, Sharks, and the atmosphere.

BB is more for the thrill lovers alhought the family raft ride is pretty awesome

I like both. Typhoon Lagoon is a more tropical/relaxed feel. Blizzard Beach seemed to have more "thrill" type slides. (but I haven't been to Typhoon Lagoon since Crush 'n Gusher opened).

I'd think I'd make Typhoon Lagoon my slight preference... tropical is nice, and all the white "snow" at Blizzard Beach makes it a little bright there.

We liked Blizzard Beach best. It was also rated on the travel channel as on of the world's top 10 waterparks.

Crush and Gusher!!! TL We had so much fun here last year. It was a blast. It is a rollercoaster type water ride and it is hilarious. The shark swim is fun and that sound when the wave is coming in the wave pool is so funny.
That top water parks show is old so they did not have the Crush and Gusher at TL yet. Now BB is fun also and may be less crowded because of Crush and gusher(I think last year was it's first year open) I don't think you can go wrong with either one- just 2 tips GO EARLY! and GET THE DONUTS!!

My family loves BB. But we haven't been there since Crush N' Gusher is at TL. Things may change. They love summit plummit. You couldn't get me on that for anything!!!! But I love the Family raft ride at BB and the lazy rivers at both. I do not care for the wave pool at BB, but love the one at TL. I would probably pick BB, too. But they are both alot of fun. If you can do both, do. :thumbsup2

I'm with ya! also Typhoon got better w/ Crush n' Gusher!

Sounds like you can't go wrong either way, but for what it is worth, I really liked Typhoon Lagoon.

BB is supposed to have their water kept a couple degrees colder than TL, this matched with the scenery can fool your brain into thinking it's colder. I sure did.

I like BB cause the rides are better, but TL is also a TON of fun and for a Canadian coming from the north the tropical theme hits better with me. I imagine that if you were there in summer, tho, BB would have the more appealing theming.

The Crush 'n Gusher and Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon were neat, but not enough to make me want to go back. I LOVE Blizzard Beach! There are way more slides, including a few where you race people to the bottom. Teamboat Springs is the best family raft ride. And I love the theming -- it's so funny to hear Christmas music at a water park!
:cold:

I loved both!!!

I really liked that in Blizzard Beach most of the rides that require a tube or mat to ride had a conveyor belt that delivered them to you at the top.
That made it much easier for the kids ( and me too for that matter) because they sometimes found it difficult to lug the tubes up at Typhoon Lagoon. And our family enjoyed the rides at Blizzard overall more than the slides at Typhoon Lagoon... we felt they were a bit more exciting. The kids loved the play area there too ( they were not impressed with Typhoon's kids area at all)

On a really hot day we thought that Typhoon might be a better choice, because the line up areas seemed to have a lot more shade than those at Blizzard Beach. The shark reef was quite interesting and the wave pool was great.

Both have their own pro and cons - But I think you would enjoy either!!!
