Best Disney Resort for honeymoon!

Can someone suggest a good honeymoon resort for our honeymoon?

They are all good in different ways. Can you be more specific about what you are looking for in a resort?

Don't mortgage your future for a honeymoon. Start with budget. Then decide if your priority is resort time, dining, or parks go go go.

No point in paying for the fanciest rwosrt to not be there. If you pay too much for the fancy resort you may not be able to use its signature dining. Etc.

I'd say one of the one-bedroom villas to guarantee a king or a moderate that has that booking category. To me two queen beds don't really seem like a honeymoon type to me.

We got married in WDW. We stayed at WL. I loved it. Really, it depends what you are looking for, what kind of setting you like, and what works budget wise. Also, what else matters? parks? transport? Room service?

Can't tell you what one, but can tell you which one did not work for us.

We went in May and got married and went to Grand Floridian. It was not special in anyway. We got a king deluxe room club level, even with military rate we spent more than $1000 a night. When we checked in, we were giving the wrong room, went down and told them, and even though we waited 6 hours for the first room we had to wait another 6 hours for the second room, we finally got one at 6 pm. We marked our reservation as honeymoon, but not once did anyone even in club level congratulate us. All in all we were very disappointed.

After 2 days we switched to boulder ridge villas and spent 11 days there, we loved it but won't say it felt honeymoon. Again they never even congratulated us.

We then moved to wilderness lodge club level, and again nothing until a lady who blogs about Disney and has lots of little ytubes out started to talk to us and a staff over heard, and then they pulled out all the carpets and we felt very special.

I love wilderness lodge but I'm not sure that was the best. I would look at poly and at board walk inn garden rooms. Those both was very high on my list but my love wanted grand fl so we went there. I just love the look of the garden rooms at board walk, and the fact that they are separate from the resort, so seem more private. I like that they are club level and that they are close to Epcot, which to me feels more like a honeymoon resort, fine wine and dinner, more adult, more holding hands and relaxing rather than theme park. Just some of my thoughts. Poly would be okay, but more pricey, for us it would have cost even more than the grand. And I like the idea of a beach walk, but not my love, other than that to me it just does not feel honeymoony.

Good like picking, and look at those rooms at board walk, I think they call them garden room club level, they all have private little flower beds and gated fence with a bird house at the enterance, and I think they are about $800 a night, all with king beds upstairs and a couch and kitchenette downstairs. So cute and private for a honeymoon.

Is your budget for the resort only, or does in include food? Park tickets? Travel? How long and when? Do you want to spend time at the resort, or is it just to sleep and dress?

It's hard to recommend anything without specific information.

Edited to add that I really like the Epcot Resort area, and particularly like The Swan.

We stayed at the Contemporary for ours and we loved it.

I would check out the resorts, their themes, amenities and then start narrowing it down from there. Only you can really decide which resort you and your future spouse may like. Allears is a good site to look at with photos etc and so is touringplans just to name a couple. For us it would have been GF, it is our favorite resort. But the only time we will stay there is if we get a great rate (never pay rack).

Those "cottages" at boardwalk seem great for honeymoons. I've never been but the pics are cute

I think a hotel with an intimate feel that won't break your bank is Port Orleans French Quarter. I thought it was romantic and that the theming was great. Plus, it's the smallest resort on property, so it just feels homey. That's my vote!

I have stayed in one of the Garden suites that LvsDisney and DG25 mentioned. It wasn't our honeymoon, but Dh and I had been married for 18 years when we went, and it was planned as a romantic time without our 4 kids

We really loved the Garden suites! Most of them have that gated front garden, but 3 of them do not. Instead, they have a balcony up on the second floor off of the master bedroom. I requested one of those, and we got one! Also, there is a quiet pool right across from those suites, so it's very convenient to be able to go for a swim or hot tub.

I second the grand not doing anything special and actually screwing up several times for our honeymoon...

I, personally, would recommend BWI. We've stayed in the cottages, the villas, standard rooms and CL and you really can't go wrong with any of them. While the cottage was cute, I don't know if it was worth the upcharge. We liked the king bed, but never used the living room area. We also didn't like to walk to CL from there. If you can swing CL, that would be lovely to have the snacks and drinks throughout the day. We also really love the villas. A studio would give you a queen bed and a sitting area. Plus we find the villas to be a little quieter than the resort side at BWI. I think BWI is so romantic. We love strolling on the Boardwalk, hearing the music, watching the entertainment, etc.

In the mod category, I would choose POFQ. Small, lovely resort with a boat ride to DS. Plus you can use the amenities at POR as well.

AKL could be lovely and quiet as well. WL should definitely be a consideration - gorgeous resort with a lovely boat ride to MK. CL at WL is also one of my favorite CL's in WDW. The studios at the villas there are lovely, too.

I would actually avoid the monorail resorts. I find them a bit chaotic and I will reiterate what others have said here about GF. While it's a beautiful resort, we had the worst service when staying at RPC. It was not worth the money at all.

Short answer, it depends on what you're looking for, how much time you'll be in the parks, all that stuff.

Hubby and I looked at honeymooning at POR (it's a special place for us) but price wise we couldnt justify it....we actually did a 4 night Disney cruise for much cheaper. (also if you're going on your honeymoon right after the wedding, you might want to consider swapping hotels during the honeymoon. Do something out of the way like AKL for a couple nights and then move somewhere closer to Epcot/MK if you plan on spending a ton of time in the parks)
