We're heading to Disney for our first time with the kids this spring...

Our first day there will be my older son's 5th birthday - so i'd like to make a reservation for dinner somewhere that will have a firework display.

We don't care if it's fancy or not - just that we can see a good show.

We are on the meal plan... and have 2yo twins with us, too :)

Any advice would be great- thank you!!!

The best view is at the California Grill which is a singnature restaurant atop the Contempo. Ressies go very fast for times around the fireworks.

No restaurant guarantees you a table with fireworks viewing. Narcoosees and Ca Grill are the 2 with the best chances where you could possibly see Wishes but the majority of diners have to go outside to view them.

Ca Grill and Narcoosees are signature dining (requires 2 credits on the meal plan) but there are well behaved children at both. As signature dining, they are more upscale. Ca Grill has an outdoor viewing platform and Narcoosees has the dock. Both of these restaurants are packed close to fireworks time and it is recommended that you get a reservation 90 minutes prior to fireworks as the closer it gets to fireworks, the less likely it is that the diners sitting at the tables are going to leave. Only you know if your 3 young children can sit quietly for that length of time.

At Ca Grill, you can dine earlier and return for fireworks viewing by showing your receipt from your meal.

Neither of these places offer views that are as good as those you get by standing inside the park.

For Epcot fireworks, the 2 restaurants where you have a chance to see Illuminations from your table are Rose & Crown and Hacienda.

What time do fireworks shows generally start?

and thanks so much for the quick replies!! So glad I found this board!! :)

Fireworks are usually at 9 but I think they could be at 10, depending on park hours. This is for Wishes. Illuminations is usually at 9.

Another option (we always do this for our first night) is to book an ADR at 'Ohana at the Polynesian and then, after dinner, go to the beach at the Polynesian to watch the fireworks. They're really magical there!

Your kids might like 'Ohana a LOT better than the California Grill. 'Ohana has activities for the kids (lots of photo ops) and since it's your son's birthday you can order a cake for the table and they will also recognize him when it's time to dance or play the games.

You will have to make your reservation early, as 'Ohana is popular.

Have fun! :wizard:

Book an ADR for the Rose and Crown, EPCOT, anytime after 7:30. The fireworks are usually at 9. This way you can watch Illuminations from the table, if you are sitting outside. If you are inside then they will escort you to a viewing area without the crowds. It's very nice.
