we ate at shulas tonight and we were not disappointed at all!! it was a great meal with superb service, as usual.

we had the 12z filet, brocc, mushrooms, the jumbo bbq garlic baon shrimp, and the surf and turf upgraded to the 12z filet
also

the steaks were excellent and the lobster was incredible

total bill 161

i would put this on your ' must ' list of rest's

Ok all these Shula posts are making me hungry.

Where exactly is Shula's?

don shulas
in the dolphin hotel
next to the swan

it will be the best steak youve ever had- and we've eaten everywhere

It's already on our list! My mouth waters just reading about it...34 days til Shula's---yippee! I understand it's comparable to a Ruth Chris steak....about right?

its better than ruth's chris or mortens

I've been saying this for a while.

It's nice to know that there are others out there that feel the same way I do!!

It is very good...But it is most definately NOT better than Ruth's Chris...

The Great Steak Debate lives on.;)

lol madcoco...It's good to know that in a tme of econmic woes, massive unemployment and war on the horizon we can still debate the truly important issues!:p

theres really no debate on this topic... ruth's chris is kinda like the second tier player trying to tarnish the leader of the pack- a whole lot like the red sox trying to bring down the yanks!

had r-c 4x and shulas 4x and there was no comparison on any of the meals- shulas run ruled r/c on all 4 occasions

just my humble overweight opinion

Huge Ruth's Chris fan here... Now I'm going to have to try Shula's. Do they take Priority Seating requests?

Edited to add: I looked them up on WDW's website. Yes they take PS requests and I'm booking our first night's dinner there now.

I'm sure they do redbeard. Give it a try we love the info...But bat4, I'm opposite of you. We've been to RC 2x and loved it. Been to Shula's 2x and have been ambivalent to both visits. Another telling tidbit in my case, I definately left Shula's thinking about the cost (both times), not a good sign. I didn't leave RC feeling that way either time. Certainly this could be circumstance, but...

Eyesnur (nice nickname, btw;) ), what didn't you like at Shula's? Specific item? Overall quality? Service?

The service, to match the atmosphere, was very clubby. I wouldn't say the food service was bad but you know they have a service tray with all of the cuts of meat to view and on this tray is a live lobster (out of water) just clicking away. Now, I handled the lobster for the viewing OK but the restaurant then positioned the cart right next to our table so I got to see the lobster and hear the clicking continually. This just wasn't appetizing to me. I politely asked for them to move it and THEY REFUSED! I then began to get up to leave and asked for my check when the manager, who had already declined the move, decided they would accomodate me. This just pissed me off.

As for the food, we found the quality of the beef to be untouchable but were very unimpressed by the sides, although they have gotten much better reviews since.

So there you go, take it for what it's worth & bon apetit!

(I, too, love the handle and your location...very clever, indeed.)

Thanks for the review. I'm going to check them out in late March. I plan on doing my "restaurant critic" thing there. I'm going without any preconceived notions or ideas and I'll just see how the dinner goes.

I'll be reporting back here!

I'd love to try Shula's! How "fancy" a place is it? I love dressing up for dinner, but I don't want to over-do it if it's a "sporty" kind of place.

What would everyone suggest we wear? DH and myself.

Thanks!

They will tell you the dress code is resort casual. I've seen it to be more "WDW casual" or come as you are.

We dress in Resort casual, khakis and shirt.
