Best dinner in Downtown Disney

I am accompanying my Mother-In-Law to CA for an eye procedure. I can't be that close to a Disneyland and not visit! We will arrive on a Wednesday evening and go to Disneyland all day Thursday.

I'd love to go to Downtown Disney for dinner that first night. What restaurant would you suggest? What meal have you loved? We both eat anything and everything! I've looked at menus and was happy with everything! I don't want to eat at Rainforest, or House of Blues, been to both multiple times in other locations. She is 70 and I'm 46, if that helps at all!

One of my favorite DTD locations is Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen. I really like the Bourbon Street Sampler (appetizer) and the Shrimp and Grits (entree).

You also would be convenient to the Disneyland Hotel (Steakhouse 55, Trader Sams?) and Grand Californian Hotel (Napa Rose) restaurants.

Another vote for Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen. The Blackened Chicken Mac and Cheese was the best meal I ate on my most recent trip. Having the live Jazz music that night made it even better!

We like Catal and Uva bar but if you're staying on site, it's great to get Naopli pizza and take it back to the pool for an Al Fresco dinner

My family always hits Catal and/or Uva Bar when we're in town. Napa Rose is great, but pricey if that's a concern. I did like Ralph Brennan's the couple of times I've eaten there.

Well another vote for Jazz kitchen as well.

Catal is quite good.

Rainforest Cafe is also one that we always go to. Its loud and over the top but the food is pretty good and it has become a tradition for our trips to eat there.

Does Napa Rose count? Because that is--hands down--one of the top 5 meals I've ever eaten in my life. And it's just right there off of DTD

Really, you can order anything off the menu there and you'll be in good shape.

We realize we eat each and every dinner in DTD. My favorite is Tortilla Jo's but that may be because they make an awesome margarita. DH loves UVA Bar, for the food and craft beer options. We love the people watching opportunities. My dad and I had a nice adult dinner at Jazz Kitchen. We even like Naples.

Do yourself a favor and eat at RB's Jazz Kitchen. If you don't like creole-style food, you may not love it, but otherwise, the food is to die for, imo.

Ralph Brennan's or Uva Bar are my two favourite DTD places. Food is great at Ralphs but can be noisy with the band. Uva is a great place to people watch and enjoy seeing all the happy folks go to and from the parks.

Absolute favorite meal is the Earl of Sandwich. The holiday turkey sandwich I'd AMAZING! I know this isn't really a sit down have dinner kinda place, but please keep it in mind. It is EPIC! We went in april and are going back in October. When I ask the hubs what he is most excited for his answer is "Mmmmmm sandwich"

Another vote for Ralph Brennan's! So yummy. We were really disappointed with Catal. My husband is from Spain and we were rather unimpressed with their tapas and sangria.

I really like the Jazz Kitchen for the entertainment. The last time we went the hostess was reluctant to let us sit in the piano room b/c we didn't have a reservation. She changed her mind when she saw how disappointed I was. The next time we go, I'll be sure to make a reservation ahead of time to avoid possible sadness.
