Spending an entire day at AK to take it all in and were looking at eating in that area as well. What is the pros and cons of the following

Boma - Flavors of Africa
Jiko The Cooking Place
Sanaa Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village
Tusker House
Yak & Yeti

Thanks in advance!!!

Boma Pros: Yummy, Good value for Disney TS, Something for almost everyone, lots of choices
Boma Cons: Loud, Raucous, Not relaxing

Jiko Pros: Amazing food, Good service, Great wine list
Cons: Expensive

Sanaa: Amazing food, relaxing ambiance, interesting decor, wonderful views of the Savannah
Sanaa Cons: Might not be something for everyone on the menu, although the kids menu has everyday item

Yak n Yeti Pros: Good food, good service, neat setting, cool decor
Cons: Can be boisterous, inside AK which closes early, so not always a great choice if you want dinner after 5 or 6pm.

Tusker House - I haven't been there

My favorites are Jiko and Sanaa tied for first, then Yak n Yeti, then Boma.
That said, they are all good and worth visiting.

Part of the party 2adults dd4 are on deluxe so we get app and entree and desert so cost at Jiko is under control for us. The other 2 adults are not on a plan but would be happy eating flat bread and splitting the apps with us. Based on that plan it might work for us. Being a sig what attire would not be appropriate? we would be coming from the park.

Sanaa looks really good with the 2 meat in gravy thing.

Y&Y would be 3rd based off of menus only because of limited times.

I might shy away from the buf's since they tend to be more expensive and could cost the other 2 adults more money.

I've found if you want a quieter area in Yak & Yeti, ask to be seated upstairs.

BUT you'll have a much better experience, IMO, if you eat at any of the AKL restaurants. Be sure to structure in enough time to explore the resort. It's worth it. It's gorgeous and so much fun to watch the animals.

Is Kidani Village at the Animal Kingdom? I am unfamiliar with this resort. Can I get to main lodge if eating at Kidani?

Kidani Village and Jambo House are the two sections that make up the Animal Kingdom Lodge/ Resort. THey are a short bus ride from the Animal Kingdom Park. The resorts have similar themes and decor as the park and animals roam certain parts of the grounds...they also have a gret collection of authentic African art. We love this resort!!

what are your thoughts about coming to Jiko or Sanaa straight from the park? Would Jiko require a change in clothing? If so it might not be ideal even though it might be a better fit since we would need to go WL from AK the back to AKL.

The dress code for the signatures is basically no swimsuits, no torn or ripped clothing, and no t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics. So it is ok to come from a park to a signature. Some people like to dress up a bit so you'll see people in all sorts of attire.

Jiko is really wonderful and I make a meal out the apps all the time, so that could work well for your party.

Kidani Village and Jambo House are two separate buildings. The park buses stop at both places - Kidani first, and then Jambo House. The DTD bus runs from Jambo to Kidani.
You can also walk between the two - it's about 10 minutes and there is a marked sidewalk.
So if you had dinner at Sanaa, you wither walk or take the first park bus that appears to get to Jambo house.

We have always enjoyed breakfasts at the Tusker House, great interaction with the characters and perhaps the best breakfast buffet at WDW in our opinion.

Yak and Yeti is one that we always do for lunch when we visit the AK. Some of the entrees are better than others, but overall we really enjoy it.

We've also done Boma a couple of times and thought it was OK. In October, we are staying in a villa at the AKL and have our first meal there.

Jiko is one of our favorite dining places at DW. Great food and a nice dining experience. One restaurant I feel is worth 2 points on the dining plan.

Boma is very popular, but I travel with a very picky eater and they didn't like Boma. It is a louder restaurant as well.

Sanaa Restaurant is a nice casual dining restaurant.

Yak & Yeti has good food and is located within the park if that matters.

Tusker House was just okay. Out of your list Tusker House would be my least favorite.

I would chose any of the 3 restaurants at AKL over the 2 at the park. I love all 3 so much!

If I had to rank it would go

Jiko (if you want to spend this much, want a quieter, classier dinner)
Sanaa (if you go when its light animals will be right outside the windows, food is amazing and prices are good)
Boma (if you don't mind a little noise and want to try many different foods, this is my favorite buffet for all of WDW)

How difficult is it to leave the park go to the lodge for lunch then come back to the park?

We just returned from WDW on Sunday night. We ate at Boma for breakfast and loved it so much that we went back a second time. We also ate at Jiko and loved our meal there as well. The filet was amazing. My daugher is 12 and I think it was one of her favorite meals. The waiter was extremely nice. He told us that we could order the mac & cheese with it, so that's what we both did. We also ate at Yak & Yeti. We were surprised how much we like it here. This is someplace that we would definitely go back to. The appetizers were very good. My mom and I ordered the bourbon chicken, and it was delicious. I can't even begin to tell you how much we liked the fried wontons for desert. We wanted to go back just to have those on another day and we were just too full.

Is it too long of a trip to leave the park for lunch at AKL and come back in afternoon?

Not at all if you're departing Animal Kingdom park. I would say "yes" if you are coming from one of the other parks. It's only a 5-10 minute ride away from Animal Kingdom to AKL.

Boma Pros- Really delicious, a lot of food.
Boma Cons- rushed dinner, very busy

Jiko Pros- AMAZING food, great service
Jiko Cons-Can't think of any:) aside from price

Sanaa & Yak and Yeti- Haven't eaten

Tusker House Pros-Great Service, good location
Tusker House Cons- Food is not incredible.
