Hi All,

I am looking for room recommendations for Kidani-- we are in a deluxe standard studio and I am wondering which rooms in this category you would recommend we request. We have not stayed at AKV before, typically we book at BLT.

Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Most Kidani standard view rooms are parking/bus stop view (but those are a little closer if you plan on walking to Jambo a few times)
Some Standard view rooms are pool view.
A few Standard view rooms are partial savanna view.
Kidani has the longest hallways of any DVC resort (by far, really, really far)
If you drive a car to parks, the hallways don't matter as much parking is underground (out of Fla sun and rain!)and there are regular elevators along those long hallways. (Don't request near elevator thinking it means close to lobby)
Common requests are near lobby, near pool, near bus. Ground floor near lobby might be convient but will have more foot traffic in the hallway.
If you don't mind a looooong hike, you can request Pembe savanna view. It's not a world-class view, but seeing some animals Is different than busses. Overall, you'll want to choose proximity to what your family enjoys most.

Kidani does not serve breakfast (only Jambo) and does not have QS dining (there is afternoon pool service ordered at the pool bar). But there is a shuttle can that runs between the Kidani and Jambo lobbies.

Kidani does have a good pool / slide / splash area, and it is a fun theme.

I have done pedometer map measurements on many of the WDW's larger resorts and the comparison between Jambo House and Kidani is that that halls at Kidani are a tenth of a mile longer than at Jambo House (0.14 AKV-J; 0.25 at AKV-K). Jambo House is similar to the walks at BWV. Think of walking in from the tram at Epcot to Spaceship Earth for Jambo House and for Kidani from the Epcot tram to Mouse Gear as the distances are very similar.

I think people are needing bathroom breaks by time they reach AKV and the distance seems much further than you are really walking. It is much further to walk practically anywhere in a park or at OKW and SSR. OKW and SSR are distances are often between 0.4 - 0.6. They are pretty walks when the weather is nice. Hot though when it's not. Thank goodness they both have shuttles/buses for families that can't do the walk.
