Best Deluxe Resort?

I haven't stayed in many, but the Contemporary: We love MK and the walkway to get there is worth it's weight in gold! We hate depending on the monorail and ferry at the end of the night and have been stuck there for hours before. Being able to control when we can leave the park is so worth staying there and being able to walk back and leave the crowds behind!

Having stayed at quite a few of them...Beach Club is our favorite for location

Boardwalk Inn because of their theme, atmosphere, restaurant options, walkways to Epcot and Hollywood Studios and having the best set of Club Level Cast Members you will meet, if you happen to be staying Club Level.

If we are including deluxe villas, I'd say BLT for their 2 BDs...the view and location can't be beat. But for a straight deluxe room, I have to go with the Poly. The ambiance, food, and transportation (monorail to MK and walking distance to TTC for everything else) equal a great vacation spot at WDW!

Wilderness Lodge
Peaceful, relaxing, beautiful
Staying there is a Holiday all by itself

Another vote for the Beach Club, but I've only stayed there and Wilderness Lodge. I was quite disappointed by WL, but I was put into a handicapped room, so I'm willing to give it another chance someday.

Beach Club is a great location, especially during Food and Wine, and I hope to stay there again in October. The room size was awesome, and I enjoyed my balcony looking towards Epcot and Illuminations fireworks. My only concerns are the lack of Counter Service food options and the pool I found overwhelmingly deep.

That's why I'm a values kind of girl and preferred Pop to either of the deluxes. I did, however, wish for the comfy chair I had at the Beach Club. Pop's food court and other amenities with a Beach Club room would be the perfect combo for me!!

I say pick your resort depending on the reason for the trip! With a little one in a stroller, I'd probably be more fond of the monorail resorts.

We've stayed at all of the deluxe resorts except 3 (CR, YC, & BWI) and our favorite is the Poly :). We love the tropical atmosphere and having the beach for watching the fireworks, with a short walk back to our room without having to fight the crowds out of MK. Along with having the convenience of the monorail for getting back and forth to MK, it's also nice being within walking distance to the TTC for catching the Epcot monorail. We love the laid back atmosphere of the Poly and while we have had great stays at all of the resorts we've stayed at, the Poly is our first choice :goodvibes.

What is the best deluxe resort in your opinion and why?

The key word being: opinion. ;)

So far, we've stayed at CR, Poly, Wilderness Lodge, and BWI. Of those, my favorite was EASILY the BWI.

First of all, of course, is the location. Not only being able to walk or boat to Epcot & DHS, but also to all of the other Epcot resorts is so wonderful. It just provides you with so many options for dining, shopping & recreation without having to worry about the sometimes-spotty Disney transportation.

Secondly, I found the rooms to be bright, spacious & elegant. They weren't as large as the rooms at CR or Poly, but IMO were nicer. The decor just felt "deluxe" to me in way the others didn't. We also had a balcony with a lovely view of a central garden area as well as the Eiffel Tower & Illuminations.

Finally, the CMs at the resort were far and away the friendliest we've encountered at any hotel, anywhere. Every. Single. One.

We want to try all the deluxe resorts at some point (even if just for a night). We're already booked for GF and AKL this spring; I'm sure we'll hit YC and/or BC by the fall. So this opinion is subject to change. ;)

We've stayed at all but the Poly (we go to Hawaii often so can't handle the theme) and we think BC is the best overall.

If AKV had a better location, I would pick it because I love the rooms and restaurants.

we've stayed at all the deluxe resorts. I'm guessing that many people will rate the GF as the best, simply because its so fancy and expensive. However, I'd rate the Poly or BC as my favorite deluxe. The Poly has a wonderful, away from it all feel to it because of the lush tropical landscaping. Its especially beautiful at night. BC has a nice, relaxed feeling with very nice rooms that are a conveniently short walk to Epcot.

My family has stayed at AKL, Contemporary, and Polynesian Resorts. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is Amazing!! The food there is great but there are a few downsides, that is location isn't prime, and the rooms aren't as large. My family likes the polynesian and contemporary equally as the rooms are huge, the theming at both of them is relaxing, and it's location is great! The contemporary doesn't have a huge theme like the poly does, but the pool is really relaxing with very few people swimming. The pool at the polynesian is so popular that when we went we could only really swim in the quiet pool. We thought it was more enjoyable to watch the fireworks at the polynesian, than the contemporary. We really cannot decide between the two of these resorts.

We stayed at the Contemporary in December, honestly it was ok but we weren't really impressed. I was expecting more I guess. I will pick a different one next time. Walking to MK was nice and we did enjoy the monorail. It still took a while to get anywhere tho on the monorail.

Wow, all of them have their own uniqueness. We have stayed at all of them over the years. but our favorite by far is the Beach Club. We have so many good memories over the years. The pool, the restaurants, the rooms, the staff and also it is next to our favorite park. Maybe it is because of familiarity now but it truly is like a second home. I miss Art but many of the old staff is still there. I can't wait until February to get there and to go downstairs and drink coffee in a rocking chair on the front porch. After maybe two cups or maybe three my family will come down and we will start another great week at WDW.

Beach Club is our favorite, closest resort to Epcot, great pool, good food, fun atmosphere, wonderful staff.

Poly/beach club...both are wonderful, maybe a slight edge to the poly...

I would 1st determine which parks you would spend more time in [location] and which theme you prefer. For us, we always rent a car and park at the parks lots > so I prefer the monorail as far as locations go. I don't mind driving to the other 3 parks.
So we prefer the monorail resorts. Usually try to get CR but prefer tower/ mkv. Which is more economical for us then the poly mkv. At the poly, we usually just get gv, because of the prices & find the gv beauitful there.
{GV at poly also encompasses the pool views, so that is nice.} We haven't stayed the last few trips there just because we needed a change for a while.
GF is nice. But I have found a severe allergy issue with the spray's used in the resort > so for now we are staying away.

When we go we always stay 2 weeks at a time [at least] so you get to know the resorts very well. I refuse to cut down the number of days to allow the budget for more expensive rooms > so it is a trade off.

We have done all 3 monorail resorts and as my signature shows have stayed many times at all of them, among others. After the Cr & poly > I like the BC, AKV Kidani was a very pleasant surprise too (but that was a 1br villa).

I doubt you can go wrong with any of them. Overall they are all lovely, and special in there own way. I think most wdw fans actually try to stay in all of them when they can. Seems a popular idea? Its just comes down to what your needs are and what you prefer.

mkyprincess:

Polynesian, love the atmosphere and monorails to MK & Epcot.

The Contemporary with beacuse it in the hart of the magic with Castal and monorail oh and the five min walk to MK
