My DH & I have been to WDW soo much that we are going to change our normal routine. Usually we rush to the parks first thing in the morning, get back, have dinner & spend an hour @ the pool in the evening. This time we want to get up, have a late breakfast, relax, swim all day & get showered & head to the parks like 3- ish, enjoy a relaxing dinner, watch the sunset @ the park then come back at closing.

We have no kids, I have a VERY STRESSFUL JOB & want to lay out & relax. A crowded pool/beach doesn't bother me I just want to have a place that has a beautiful outdoor atmosphere, so I really can feel relaxed & surrounded by beauty. If this was your goal, which Deluxe would you pick & why? Thanks!!!!!!

My vote would be for Wilderness Lodge. I think it would be less hectic than the Y&B Club, even though that's a really popular pool (a.k.a., it gets crowded). Most of the deluxe resorts have quiet pools away from the theme pool that are usually never crowded.

The Polynesian has a great pool area that it shares with a beach. AKL also has a great pool. We are going to the Yacht Club this weekend. I hope that the pool area proves to be relaxing as well.

WL! It transforms you to the outdoors and the open-ness of The Great Northwest! The grounds are just lovely and the pool area is very soothing with the sound of the waterfall as the backdrop.

My vote would be for the Wilderness Lodge, also. The pool area was never overcrowded even during the 4th of July week. When you are tired of the sun, the whole lodge is a beautiful place just to hang out. I like sitting in the rocking chairs by the huge fireplace. Stormalong Bay at YC & BC is always packed and it seems like a lot of younger children stay there just because of the pool. Good luck.

Hands down, I vote for AKL. We were there last year and although we had no intention of slowing down, we found ourselves doing just that! That resort is just SOOO relaxing! We were hesitant to leave. The pool area is very low key. The way the lounge chairs are set up between the foliage, you can find a spot that is quiet. One of the hot tubs is also a little more secluded/quiet. We just enjoyed walking around and watching the animals as well as all the beautiful things within the resort. I also think that because it is a little further removed than say the Poly, you are more apt to slow down and relax. That MHO!;)

Of the resorts I've stayed at recently, AKL is by far the most relaxing. We visited there last trip, and just walking out by the pool area took me away! The music & atmosphere immediately drained away all the tension of travelling with my mom & my 2 year old. I wanted to stay so badly!!

We didn't find the Polynesian very relaxing, and the GF was just ok. Lots of little kids by the themed pool made it seem very small. YC/BC is enjoyable in the off season. We haven't stayed at WL, but it does look nice.

Lately there have been glowing reports of the swan/dolphin, and especially the pool. Might be worth checking into!

I've been to the WL and the Poly pool. The Poly wins hands down! It is so relaxing to sit in the pool and look at the spectular view of the lake and MK. We have never stayed at the resort pools as much until we stayed at the Poly. Then we were there every day! The WL pool was overcrowded even during slow season as it is a smaller pool. That is one of two things I hated about the WL. The other was the transportation.

First, I can really understand. DH has a very stressful job. His idea of "relax" is find the nearest rocking chair. Fortunately, WL has the best selection of rocking chairs. However, if you're more a hammock person, I think (not sure) Poly has hammocks.

Hi there...

If you can swing the cost - I would say the Grand Floridian or Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Have fun planning your holiday

There's nothing like a nice relaxing vacation to restore yourself. I would also vote for WL. It has the Geyser, the beach, a great pool, surrey bikes, the boats coming and going, and those villa porch rockers. I slipped away from DH and DD while we were there and spent 1/2 hr with a cup of great coffee (conceirge) in a rocker just letting the world pass me by. It was heaven. Oh, I want to go back . . . .

I think the AKL pool is fab! It's so large you don't have a problem finding a spot. There are trees around for shady areas and misters (on the bridges) - so great for hot days. I pulled a chair up onto a bridge over looking the pool. With the breeze occasionally blowing the mist my way, it was heaven.

The pool at WL is fairly small compared to some of the others. I always felt like it was crowded. Y&BC, unless you pick a quiet pool, the main pool, SAB has a LOT of people. The GF is beautiful and the Poly too - you can't beat the view of MK...

What a choice to have to make!;)

HANDS DOWN,The WL gets my vote.we just returned this past Saturday and it was wonderful.it is just so relaxing.the pool near the VWL is the quietest, and they have huge rocking chairs on the outside of the Villas at the entrance.we did not want to come home.it was the most relaxing trip we have ever been on.we loved it so much we extended our vacation.

I just noticed the OP has been to the WL before. Did you find their pool to be relaxing or are you looking for something else?

My favorite is SAB at Y&B. Yes, it does get crowded but it is so beautifully landscaped. Lunch at B&C or Hurricane Hannahs is good too! Plus a stroll around Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk is relaxing too. I like to lay out and sun at the pool and I love SAB. My DH prefers to sit in the shade and people watch so SAB is perfect for him too. We always plan a couple of relaxing pool days in each vacation at WDW!

My second choice would be the pool at AKL. I haven't stayed there but we walked around the last time we ate at Boma's and the pool is huge. Plus it has zero entry which makes it look so inviting and there are lots of lounge chairs. Have fun and RELAX!

Im have to go with the Poly pool. Its nice to sit by the pool and have that tropical feel. Look out and see the castle and then look back and see a lrg volcano.
I cant wait to try the pool at AKL. Im hearing so many awesome things about it.

You will enjoy no matter where you stay. Your in Disney

Another vote for Y/B Club. That was my favorite resort of all time! The grounds are stunning, the pool fabulous and the whole area surrounding is beautiful. I love strolling the Boardwalk in the evenings and enjoying the atmosphere. And of course, Beaches & Cream has the best milkshakes!!

My vote is for AKL. The theming is so relaxing! We've stayed twice for the relaxing atmosphere!

My DH and I purposely set a day aside to "chill" at the pool and the pool that gets our vote is the Grotto Pool at the SwanDolphin. Sunday afternoons are awesome when they have a neat raggae band playing!!:smooth:

I have stayed at AKL and CSR and both have that relaxing atmosphere! When we stayed at CSR we didn't even go to any parks, just hung out at the pool/ hot tub.

I would pick AKL!!!! The food court is literally right next to the pool. You could eat breakfast or lunch inside or right by the pool at the many umbrella tables. Boma is also a few steps away. You could literally have breakfast at this resort and just step outdoors to the pool area. You can also eat breakfast on your balcony overlooking the savannah. The pool bar there is great, too. Since there is zero entry, you can relax in the shallow end if you want.

The transportation here to the parks is excellent!! One stop, no sharing.
Great restauants, romantic atmosphere. Practically new rooms. I can't wait to go back!!!!
If you plan to spend a lot of time at the resort, note it on your requests, so you aren't too far from the pool. Any hotel can have a beach, this one has a savannah!!!!!!
