Are there any other brands that are comparable in warmth without the high cost?

I like Minnetonka, BearPaw, and Emus. I think the cost of all those brands are less than Uggs and are still awesome quality. My newest BearPaws have held up better than my Uggs (and seem to be warmer) and I live in Ohio where I have to trek through my college campus in the snow with them. You can sometimes get really good deals on BearPaws through Amazon and 6pm. I think I paid around $45 for them through 6pm. DSW also sells them for about $60 for fur lined boots. My Emus are shorter though I don't tend to wear them in the snow, but I've had them a few years now and they're still just as good as new. I'm planning on buying a new pair of Minnetonkas this year because I found a pair of leopard fur lined moccasins that I am in love with and they're only $40, which is about what I would pay at any store for a similiar pair. I also find the Costco brand really comfortable and great quality for the price (I think they were around $30 or $40 last year). They have held up just as well as my name brand boots.

I just recently ordered a pair from shoes.com. They were on sale and then they had an additional 25% off code for all sale items. I was surprised that it went through because a lot of the coupon codes out there have brand exclusions and ugg is almost always one of them. I will agree with the previous poster that the ones from Costco are very good too. I have a pair and they are still going strong!

I have both Emus and Bearpaws as well and love them both. Usually the amazon shoe website (name escapes me right now) will have hte Bearpaws on sale for 50% off in December. I have ordered several pairs then.

My girls have loved their BearPaws and they've held up well. We usually get them either at Marshalls or at Shoe Dept.

Marshall's sometimes has Uggs for pretty good prices, but they are always either peculiar colors or styles. The Marshalls near me has those ones that look like sweaters occasionally. Those I don't understand.

The week after Christmas , Olympia Sports had Bear Paws BOGO free. I got my teen a tall black pair as well as a free tall tan one. It came to $60.00 She's been wearing them again this fall and they have held up great.

Anything that is real sheepskin will be comparable. The biggest difference with boots that are Ugg brand and just look like Uggs is real vs. Faux sheepskin.

I don't agree. Many of the lower priced options are made with real sheepskin.

I must have been unclear. Sorry.

I was trying to say the warmth comes from real sheepskin, regardless of brand (Ugg, Emu...) or price. Just make sure you get sheepskin, not faux, and you'll be happy with them.

It depends on which style you're looking for- I bought myself a pair of UGG ultimates and bought my sister a pair of Bearpaw look-alikes with the exact same type of soles and tried hers on (we wear the same size) and the Bearpaws felt very hard and flat-soled. I thought the fur lined soles in my uggs were much more comfortable. The Bearpaws were a little skinnier too.

If you were planning on a pair of UGG classics, though- they're pretty much the same as any other look-alike brand- they're all kinda flat-soled.
