Best deal on Halloween candy?

I would love to know also! I like to buy chocolate candy to hand out. Since that's what me and my kids like, I want to do the same.

not sure if it's the best deal but seems to be a good deal. Target has if you buy two of the larger halloween candy bags for $10 each, you get a $5 gift card.

And if you use your target red card you can get 2 bags for $18 and a $5 gift card. I wonder if I bought candy now would it make it to Halloween (temptation)?

I lay mine flat on top of the cupboards, where my husband can't see it.

I purposely don't buy mounds/almond joy, that is my weakness. Hubby's weakness is chocolate--but not with coconut. So I hide it from him and don't buy what I like, works for me.;)

Does anyone know who has the best deal on Halloween candy yet?

Keep watching the sales circulars and the coupon inserts from the Sunday papers the next couple of weeks. My grocery store usually puts the bags of candy like Kit Kat/3 Muskateers/Snickers, etc. on sale 2 bags for $5 at some point and that same week there is usually a coupon that takes a dollar off when you buy two bags. $2 per bag works out pretty good, to me. Of course it depends on how many candies you are planning to hand out in your neighborhood;)

We got TONS of kids. I need a good sale!

I'm interested as well. I remember there was an unbelievable sale a couple of years ago at CVS. Anyone remember that? I would love to get it again since we have a ton of kids in our neighborhood.

I usually buy a few packs of those bulk packed full sized bars from either walmart or costco -- I figured by the time I give a few pieces of those mini bar ones to each kid (no one gives just one of those tiny things!) it is around the same price as just buying a full sized bar for each kid. my daughter always comes home with a bunch of full sized bars from trick or treating.

Since we have so few kids come by I always create goody bags. All of the non-chocolate candy I buy at the Dollar Tree.

I had a few kids gripe about only getting one bar of candy - they were full-sized bars, but that wasn't good enough! I've also had them grab from the bowl I bring to the door, while I'm reaching in to give them a handful. Greedy little punks. I'd rather have full-sized bars left over, but that's greed on my part, lol.

That's only the kids who come later in the day, by car. The parents don't even get out or watch the kids. They park at the top of the hill and light up a cigarette while the kids make the rounds of strangers' houses. I wonder if they're more polite with neighbors they know? Most of the kids who live around here, that I recognize from the playground, come with parents in tow and are polite/patient. I wonder if freedom goes to the visitors' heads and they forget their manners?

I started doing that a few years ago, to stop the grabbing. I have a separate bucket of toddler goody bags, that have less candy, but some fun toys, pencils and stickers that I bought at after-Halloween sales the year before.

I love Halloween, I think it's a fun way to meet and chat with your neighbors. The parties that many communities/families substitute aren't the same thing.
I decorate my house, not excessively or ghoulishly, but just enough to make them laugh. (The bat that flies around my porch or tree is always a hit.) I ask the kids without costumes do tricks to entertain me in exchange for their candy - some come back the next year to show me their new tricks! When I see an obviously made-with-love or self-created costume, I make a fuss about it. I've had kids recognize me at supermarkets and ask about my "pet bat." It's sweet and all in good fun.

My local supermarket has Halloween candy on sale but not sure its that great of a bargain. It's snickers, milky way, reeses, etc. The deal is 5 bags (contains 18 pieces) for $10. I have a coupon for $1.50 off 3 bags so I assume I could get 5 bags for $8.50? Does that sound like a good deal? Total of 90 snack size bars for $8.50?

My neighborhood is "the place to be" on Halloween. The police put up cones & direct traffic. We can get over 200 trick or treaters in a 4 hour time span so I no longer buy "nice" candy. I order plastic vampire teeth, jumping spiders, tattoos, & other things from Oriental Trading Company & mix them in with candy from those giant value mixes. It's the only way we can afford to give stuff out!

Has anybody noticed how empty the bags of candy feel nowadays? It seems that there used to be more fun sized bars in a bag, and these bags cost a lot these days!

I wend for the deal at Target this week. 2 $10 bags and got a $5 Target GC. I also used the $1.50 Q on 3 more tiny bags, and I had a Target Q for $1 to stack w/ that. That won't be enough for the kids in our 'hood so I will have to find another deal somewhere down the road. I have 2 locking plastic foot lockers I bought last year to hide my holiday shopping/gifts in, so I put the Halloween candy in there so it might actually make it until Halloween. Good luck to me! :rotfl:

Not only do I need a huge bowl for Halloween (which is hard to keep in the house because DH is a chocolate junkie) but I am the one who spoils the band kids with a nice bag for each bus for the ride back from competitions. They eat just about anything that is not nailed down at that point but the candy is what they go after the most.

Last week I had caught a good deal at Rite Aid for the Snickers/Milky Way light and dark/3 Muskateers for the big bit size bag (80 oz maybe) for $5 and then I grabbed the Whoppers/Kit Kat/Milk Duds combo that had 70 pieces for $6 with a $2 up reward.

I always look when I go into the stores because sometimes you find something that you didn't notice in a flyer.
