best deal exercise equipment

what is the best time of year and/or place to buy a treadmill and/or elliptical? Anyone have any good deals to share? I want quiet, compact and/or foldable, and clean & safe enough to be on my white living room carpet. lol

I know. I know. I don't ask for much. lol

Personally, I had no problems finding great deals on almost new machines on craigslist. A lot of people buy the machines and use them as clothes hangers before finally deciding to sell them. Check it out

I second the craigslist suggestion. I found my elliptical last year on craigslist. I saw practically the same one at BJ's a few months ago for over $600; I paid $300 for mine

we found our elliptical at sam's for $250. It was a floor model, on the outer aisles where they put the discounted items. I found it and called hubby about it. About a month earlier I had found a nice treadmill for $500, he wasn't quick enough. It was a reebok treadmill that sold for over $1000 and had the games on the display panel along with the fan and I think you could buy workouts for it and possibly more games. It would have been a deal.

My dad said he picked up an elliptical for $10 at a garage sale. The woman had three machines and was selling them each for $10, just wanted them out of her house.

We got ours from an ad in the paper. LOVE It. But I would suggest being very careful on the white carpet. Maybe it's just ours, but sometimes it leaves black on the floor.
