best days to fly?

what are traditionally the cheapest days to fly,and does it vary by carrier? we're trying to make plans right now, it's bit too early to book our dates, but I want to plan....

My experience has been that it is cheapest to fly on Tuesday, WEdnesday and Thursday! Good luck!!

As posted, Tues. & Wed. are slowest/cheapest and is currently reduced on SW. Thurs., Sat. & Mon. are a little busier with Fri. & Sun. the busiest/most expensive.

middle of the week tends to be cheaper, we could have saved 136.00 by flying out on any other day but Sat. but that's how dh's vacation time starts! good luck and have fun planning!

The cheapest days to fly are those on which you find the lowest rates. I fly about 18 - 20 times per year and IMHO the ONLY day that consistently has higher fares is Monday. Many times by leaving or returning 1 day earlier or later you can save $100s. BTW - make sure to keep the rental car over a Saturday night for the lowest rates!
