Hey! I'm typically a big planner - but I'm stuck! Can you help? We'll be arriving on July 31 (Saturday) and leaving August 8 (Sunday). We want to pack in a lot by doing WDW (3 days), IOA/US (2 days), Discovery Cove (1 day) AND Kennedy Space Center/Cocoa Beach (1 day). It's our third trip in 10 years - so we have an idea what we want to see. New to the agenda is Discovery Cove and Kennedy Space Center. Are there recommended days of the week to visit these attractions? Discovery Cove still has availability any day that week. Is there any particular day of the week when IOA/US aren't quite so busy? I realize I need to firm up our intinerary - perhaps I'm afraid of making a wrong decision . . . if there is one. Any suggestions out there, my friends?

The only attraction you listed that I would recommend saving for a weekend is KSC. Since you would be going via the Beachline, the weekday traffic is awful and you have to time it right so you won't run into rush hour. The other places you want to visit should be done during the week if at all possible to keep the lines to a minimum.

Thank you, Metro West. I never considered that the traffic would be worse during the week than on the weekend. I actually thought it would be the opposite. So, thanks. We'd be heading to Cocoa Beach the same day we do Kennedy Space Center. What will Cocoa Beach be like on a Saturday?

During the week rush hour traffic is terrible on every major highway in this area. The weekend traffic is bad too but it should flow better unless there's an accident. Cocoa Beach shouldn't be too bad as long as I-95 is flowing along.

If you don't mind, could you please give me some driving directions in the Orlando area. We've only been there once and got lost coming out of the parks and going back to our villa every single night we were there. There was so much construction going on that every single map that I had printed out from mapquest was useless to us.

Getting from WDW to East Kissimmee was something we came to dread every single night. A few times we ended up way out in the country and were just lucky we found our way back to civilization. :rotfl:

We also got lost coming from Universal back to Kissimmee. One night, I told my husband to just point the car north and we were bound to run into it sometime. :rotfl2:

Got lost going back to the airport too because of construction and no signs on the freeways telling us which exit to take to the airport. We're used to our freeways here that have signs every quarter of a mile that says "airport, 2 miles... airport, 1 1/2 miles..etc. Guess our state government feels we Washingtonians need more detailed driving instructions than Floridians. :lmao:

We're staying at a villa in the Sunset Lakes community just west of WDW. I've been studying google maps to give us some kind of idea of the roads but am still a bit lost and could really use some advise.

We are going to Universal on Tuesday and Thursday and SeaWorld on Friday. We've been saving our quarters and have plenty of change saved up to take toll roads and prefer them if it will help us avoid traffic jams on I-4.

Any help you could give us would be greatly appreciated. :flower3:

From Sunset Lakes...it looks like your easiest route would be to take Funie Steed Road to 192 (W Orlo Bronson) to I-4. Otherwise you would have to cut through the Disney property and take would probably take a lot more time. Just remember to try and stay off of I-4 during the peak rush hour times. If you know which exit to look for you should see the signs in plenty of time to get into the proper lane. Once you're on I-4 you should be able to navigate to Universal and Sea World. The Universal exit should be exit 75B (Kirkman Road) and Sea World would be exit 71 (Central Florida Parkway). On your return to Sunset Lakes...you would take exit 64 and follow the signs to 192 back to your villa. Here is a good map of the area from Google. Just click on Sunset Lakes and go from there. http://www.orlandovillas.com/Map.aspx

BTW...there are no toll roads from the Disney area to Universal or Sea World.
:thumbsup2
