What are the best days to go to each park, so that you avoid the most crowds?

I would love to discuss early opening days. Are they REALLY bad days to go to that park? Last time I went (Nov '04), we went to MGM Studios on it's early opening day and it was INSANELY busy. One of the cast members commented that it's always really busy on the early open day. We never even went on Rock N Rollercoaster because the fast pass was for 5 hours later!! Ugh.

This makes me think that, unless you get to that park RIGHT when it opens and hit a few rides, going to a park on it's early opening day and maybe it's late night day makes it a park to avoid????

I have a few things written down for my upcoming trip....

Saturdays - early day in MGM
Sundays - Late day in Magic Kingdom
Mondays - Early day in AK & late day in MGM
Tuesdays - Early day in EPCOT
Wednesdays - Late day in AK
Thursdays - early day in Magic Kingdom
Fridays - not sure - we leave that day. ;-)

I'd love to hear thoughts on this subject!

We love AM EMH. Our strategy is to be there when it opens, hit our favorites, get out of that park by lunch (since it is the busiest), go to our resort for nap/pool, head back to another late opening park for the remainder of the day. If you are not interested in teh nap/pool, go straight to another park.

I know there is a list somewhere that gives what parks are least busy on each day. Anyone know the link?

This website might help.

From what I have seen, the EMH days vary, so I don't know how you could say which days at the parks are better. I have been checking for our August trip, and the EMH for April, May and June are not the same.

A beleive I got this from the Allearsnet.com site -

A recent inquiry of Disney regarding which days to visit which parks had the following response; "During regular attendance periods, our parks tend to be the busiest on the following days:
• Magic Kingdom: Monday, Thursday, and Saturday
• Epcot: Tuesday and Friday
• Disney-MGM Studios: Sunday and Wednesday
• Disney's Animal Kingdom: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday"

This is our strategy as well! :thumbsup2

This is very good information to have. We are splitting our stay in August with one week off-site and another on-site. I'll have to plan out two different strategies. Plus we've never been in the summer.

:wizard: From the many, many, many planning books I read and from past experience the worst day to visit MK is Monday (go Tues instead). Try to avoid that. Best day for MGM is Saturday and Animal Kingdom is Sunday. Try to avoid Epcot on Tuesdays. Try Wednesday.

150 days and counting!! :teacher:
