I was just reading a recent thread and I got to thinking, how do you figure out which day is best for which park? They mentioned that Tuesday is the best day to go to MK, why and where is that posted?

Tour guide mike also has calendars where he suggests which parks to go to on which days to avoid the crowds.

The touringplans.com website keeps the current 30 day calendar up for free. It's $8.95 for a year's subscription and I believe, Tour Guide Mike is about $19.99 for a one year subscription.

We plan around the extra magic hours...meaning we NEVER go to the park during the time of day when there are EMH!

We also found that the best time to go to parks is opposite when the EMH are. For example, if MK has EMH in the AM, we go to MK that evening.

The parks are much more crowded during EMH.

That is also what we do and it seems to work out good.

Sorry but I don't think its worth paying to know which days are the best to go to which park. Since someone mentioned it I thought it was something widely posted. Seems odd to pay for that info, no thanks!

I would disagree a bit with that. If you are spending $3,000+ for a once in a long while vacation, $8.95 is a small price to help plan out what parks make sense for you. This can also save you a bunch of money from having to buy hoppers when you go to a park that is absolutely packed (think MK on Thursday). I don't like to plan out each specific attraction we do each day as I tend to think that puts people on "mission mode" instead of "magic mode". But picking the right park for the right day makes a lot of sense.

We have been to Disney several times and never encountered huge crowd issues so why would I spend that money now, it just doesn't make sense!

Just make sure not to go during EMH

We followed UG advice on which days to go to which parks - except one day. It worked best to go back to MK on a Thursday so we did, even though it wasn't recommended. It was WAY busier than when we had been there two days before (Tuesday) due to EMH.

I hate to be a thread killer but if you were going to WDW for a week and wanted to duck out to Seaworld (I know, sacrilege) which day would you choose. I really want to go there on the slowest possible day because it may be years before I go back. I'm a WDW AP holder and have been to WDW many, many times but I've never been to Seaworld Orlando. I did go to the one in Cleveland once (yes, there really was a Seaworld in Cleveland at one time:rotfl:)

There's probably not a 'best day' for Seaworld, but I'd have to say sometime during the week. And actually the Seaworld was in Aurora, OH about 45 minutes south of Cleveland. If you want to be technical ;)

According to the Ultimate Touring Guide....

The best day to go to Magic Kingdom is Tuesday, the worst day is Thursday.
The best day to go to Epcot is Wednesday, the worst day is Tuesday.
The best day to go to Disney Hollywood Studios is Saturday, the worst day is Friday.
The best day to go to Animal Kingdom is Friday, the worst day is Monday.
The best day to go to the water parks is Saturday, the worst day is Thursday.

They have the complete list here. (for free)

Edited to add: I think I already mentioned this in this thread, but we went to MK both Tuesday (best day) and Thursday (worst day) and there was a huge difference in crowds!!

I can definitely see Thursday being bad. Everytime we've been to WDW Thursday has been AM EMH at MK. So yup...it would be bad!

I like touringplans.com but I also avoid AM EMH parks. WE do PM EMH though.

I've been on touringplans.com, and if you don't want to spend the money on a subscription, there is info for free that give you the approximate crowd levels for 1 month from today on the crowd calendar link. If you notice, there is usually a pattern, so you could probably consider that and EMH for your week and figure it out. :teacher:

If you always visit during times of the year when crowds are low, than planning in general isn't as important. If you visit during busy times, picking the right day for each park can make a big difference.
Also, paying to join TouringPlans.com or Tour Guide Mike isn't just about getting advice about which day to do which park. Both of those services offer a lot more information and tools to help you plan your trip. Advice about best days is only part of the reason I use TGM.

I would totally disregard any advice that was as simple as "go to MK on Tuesdays, not thursdays". It may be good advice in some cases, but bad in others. Park hours, special events, and the EMH schedule are far more important than what day of the week it is. That is the advantage of using a service like the one's that have been mentioned. They do all the research on the park hours, any special events going on, the effect of certain holidays, etc. Based on all that information, plus their knowledge and experience, they are able to give good recommendations about which parks to do.

But if you want a general rule of thumb, the least crowded parks each day are going to be the parks that do NOT have an EMH scheduled. Another good idea is to visit each park the day after it had an evening EMH. Then you know that lots of people were there the night before and are probably going to be sleeping in and going to a different park the next day. So if MK has an evening EMH on Monday, Tuesday will be a great day to go to MK.

Personally, I think spending $20 on TGM is a small price to pay to help make my multi-thousand dollar vacation a little bit better.
