We are going to DL August 10 (Sun) to August 16 (Saturday), what would be the best day to visit Universal Studios....I'm thinking Wednesday August 13th?

Thoughts?

Sigh...wrong forum...

Actually I don't think it is the wrong forum, I am looking for the best advice on maximizing my trip between US and DLR, spending 5 days at DLR and 1 at US. Should I have asked the question, "...what would be the best days to be a DLR if I was to spend 5 days in a 6 day period...".

Just trying to get a viewpoint on this as I suspect lots of people do one day at US and more than one day at DLR.

Let's look at it in reverse. What are the best days to go to Disneyland--(1) Wednesday; (2/3) Tuesday/Thursday.

Friday, Saturday, & Sunday are not a good choice for DL.

Weekends are not good anywhere.

With all that in mind, Monday would be the best for Universal Studios. I think people actually look at Tuesday being the best Universal day, but I'm not willing to give up one of the three best days at DL for it. From what I've learned on Disboards is that if you get to Universal when it opens and tour in the right order, you will be done with everything by 3:00 PM.

Have fun.

That is an interesting viewpoint......by the way, how was your experience at universal based on your plan?

This is just picked up advice from friends/relatives in Southern Cal . . . we actually don't go until August. Our California friends say "Tuesday" if that's about all you're doing, but not necessarily the best day if your doing Disney and other stuff.

I'm not sure if it's ever busy there...we went during the peak of summer two years ago on a Friday and walked onto every ride. It's pretty barren there, lol.

We were at Universal last month on a Saturday, and by noon it was pretty crowded with waits for attractions and food. I would have loved to do a weekday for Universal, but did the weekend day to avoid the weekday traffic and DLR Saturday crowds. We did get a lot in before noon and left mid-afternoon, so it wasn't unbearable, but it does get busy.

Yeah, I'm sure the crowds never get like DL! LOL

We went the same week they had the fire there. The tram ride just wasn't the same without King Kong. We were done with the whole place around 2-3pm. Had lunch and walked around City Walk. Then made our way back to DL for the evening!
