Best Day to Arrive

We are planning a trip for late October 2015 to coincide with a conference (10//28-31). We want to stay for a week and wondered which is the best arrival day - Sat, Sun, or Mon - as far as getting room requests and possible upgrades. We are staying at either CR or Poly.

Saturday and Sunday are pretty high travel days and arrival days for most, out of the three, I would say Monday is your best bet!

In my past experiences Sundays are the check out check in days for most people. So don't expect your room to be ready till check in time after 3pm

Mondays are high for the magic kingdom, because its the first full day.

I would do Sunday over Saturday.

Looking at the EasyWDW crowd calendar (and from personal experience) it seems that Saturdays are busier than Sundays. I would choose to travel on Saturday and have Sunday for a park day.
