best dates to visit between Dec 26 - Jan 3

we like to go in mid january, since the crowds are low. We were there in 2012 and it was very low.

We want to go again, but we might only be able to go during the christmas break... which means going sometime between dec 26 - Jan 3.

if you had to pick 2 days that would be the best (in terms of crowded) which two days would you recommend? and which days to avoid ( i assume dec 31 is one to avoid).


how is the week of jan 4 - 8 in terms of crowds?

The week between Christmas and New Years is the single busiest week of the year and there are capacity closures on multiple days. Then the holidays go through the 6th, so you get crowds through then with the lower level APs going back to see the holiday stuff before it ends. But is year there is also the impending closure of BTR forever and ROA for a long time after the 10th. We also don't know yet when Season of the Force will end, so if it happens to be in that time frame that could also draw crowds. Plus the 60th has just been popular in general and drawing crowds. The best thing to do is embrace that it will be crowded, plan around it, and pick the dates that work best for schedule, hotel/flight availability or traffic if driving.

I would avoid the 26th, 27th, and 31st. But realistically, they will all be over the top busy. But those will be the worst.

The 60th has thrown off everything in terms of crowds at DLR. It seems there is no low crowd time now. Top that with the holiday crowds and you have to just take what comes. Since you can't really pick a low crowd time, pick according to what works best for your schedule and travel itinerary. Skipping the 31st seems like a good idea. Otherwise, go with what works best for you.

It would be better, doubt you'd see as many turnstile closures.
