Best CS of the monorail resorts?

the pork sandwich is a sweet bbq sandwich. Poly chips are like those terra chips. Sweet potato, yukon gold. Sort of like a glorified potato chip

Another vote for Captain Cooks.:thumbsup2

What's the name of the new CS at CR?

What's the name of the new CS at CR?

It's called Contempo Cafe I believe.

Ok, so I have Capt. Cooks q's for all of you... first, what exactly is the "grown up grilled cheese"? second, I would like to try tonga toast since everyone raves about it but I don't like bananas. I love banana bread but I don't like to sit down and eat a huge fresh banana. Do you think I would like the tonga toast? Thanks! :thumbsup2

We will be staying at the GF and I read that you can walk to the Poly so I may do that and try the Tonga Toast. :thumbsup2 I was reading the menu and it said Aloha pork sandwich. Is that like a BBQ pork sandwich or is it a different sauce? It also said it comes with poly chips. Can someone tell me if these are like potato chips or are they different in some way? Thanks,

Loralie

I'd hop the boat from the marina to the Poly since it goes there first before heading to MK. Then walk back if you're planning a pool day since the path passes the GF beach pool.

Just try the Tonga Toast, it's hard to describe it. Just make sure to try it first without syrup as it's so sweet you might find you might not need it.

I believe the grilled cheese has bleu cheese on it to make it "adult".

I've heard the house made chips and chicken lo mein at Capt Cooks is very good too.

Have to say that the GF CS is good for it's guests, the food is not bad and they have a nice selection. It's just not something to go out of the way for. The menu has typical burgers, chicken sandwiches and pizza.

I can't believe that there is actually someone else other than me like this! I don't like bananas, but love banana bread. I don't mind the banana flavor I guess. I keep thinking about trying the Tonga Toast as well, but shyed away when I found out it had bananas in it. The picture someone posted looks good, except for the chunks. Of course, big chunks would be easy to pick out too. I also like banana pudding, but I eat around the banana slices... ;)

I don't like bananas, but I did try the tonga toast and it was nice (not amazing, I prefer the french toast at Crystal Palace - yum!!:cutie:), but i'd eat it again as I prefer sweet things for breakfast!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Because the banana is heated it didn't really seem like banana - and the texture was different (which is my main problem with bananas anyway!!):lmao:

HTH!!:thumbsup2

It's so nice to be understood!:rotfl2: I'm making it a point to try it next trip, the pics. I've seen do look really good!

Amy, thanks so much for the reassurance! Kristy, I think I'm going to make it a point to try it as well as the pictures do look really yummy!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the tip. :thumbsup2 So...the boat from the GF goes to the Poly and the MK. Does the boat go anywhere else from the GF?

No, it only goes from GF, to POLY, to MK, to GF, to POLY to MK then repeat all day, all night :rotfl:

If you're going to the WL or Ft Wl, you can switch to a boat at MK.

What's scrapple?:confused3

Scrapple... left over pork products formed into a loaf. Sliced, fried and served with molasses, or ketchup.

When you think about eating scrapple, all of the chemicals in a Dole whip don't sound so bad! :lmao: If only Captain Cooks served Dole whips AND scrapple!
