Where is the best counter service restaurants at the parks?

Well, I dont know about the best, but here are a few of my personal favorites from each park (but, I'm not sure of the specific names of many of these places)

- Epcot - The food court in the Land has a lot of great stuff that I was surprised to see offered as CS. Plus, the selection is pretty varied, so anyone is likely to find something worth eating there.

Also, there is a CS in England, at the World Showcase, which offers fish and chips, and to me, I'll take that over a hamburger or hot dog any day.

But, to be fair, just about any country in WS has some great selections for CS meals, England just happens to be my fav.

- Animal Kingdom - I would argue that the best CS offerings in all of WDW can be found in this park. I guess thats balances out the fact that there are no TS offerings here.

Flametree BBQ and Tusker House are my personal fav. At Flametree you can get ribs and a number of other bbq treats, and Tusker house offers salmon, chicken and some great, but light, sides. It's almost comprable to a low end TS meal, except you have to wait in line for it.

- MGM - Not really much variety in this park by way of CS meals. A hamburger, hotdog or chicken is the standard fare at just about any CS. However, I find the ABC commisary is about the only location that offers any amount of variety, and the atmosphere is pretty neat too.

- Magic Kingdom - Again, like MGM, not much variety here, but Pecos Bill's is always a nice choice. Also, Pinochio's Villiage Hause (sp?) is not too bad either. But, honestly, hamburgers and fries, or chicken and fish is going to taste the same anywhere you go.

Hope this helps.

How about Cosmic Rays in MK... 1/2 slab of ribs, a 1/2 chicken, a dessert and a drink. All on 1 CS credit.

If you like hotdogs Casey's in MK is great. We also like Earl of Sandwich Downtown.

AK- Pizzafari and Flame Tree

MK- Pinochios

Epcot- Cantina de San Angel

MGM- nothing great so far from CS. We prefer Sci Fi for lunch.

MK- Pecos Bills and Columbia Harbor House(mmm clam chowder)

Epcot - Fish and chips place

MGM - Nothing, food bites take a boat ride to boardwalk or resorts

Animal Kingdom - Flame Tree (good pulled pork and spicy fries) :goodvibes

Main Street Bakery, Yakitori House, Mrs. Pott's, columbia harbour house

Animal Kingdom Tusker House

Magic Kingdom Columbia Harbour House

MGM Can't really think of anyone I really like. Backlot Express has ok food

Epcot Alot of good places here, just to name a few, Morocco, China, The Land has good sandwiches.

in my opinions:
MK- Pecos
MGM-hmmmmm.... got to get back to you on that one.
AK- Flame tree
Epcot- Everywhere in the WS but my favorite Mexico!

Is the Tomorrowland Noodle place still open? They have good thai food. Also like Cosmic Ray's and the French Bakery.

These are all great. It is a shame though that a good cs meal can be found at MGM.

MK- Caseys hands down!

Epcot- Cantina de san angel

MGM- none IMO :sad2:

AK- I only tried Pizzafari so I can't really say

From our last trip:

MGM: We really enjoyed the Studio Catering Company which, at the time, had gyros and lamb, etc. It appears from the menus at allearsnet.com that they no longer carry them, which is a shame. The ABC Commissary, at which we had the fish and chips, gave comparatively small portions.

EPCOT: Sunshine Seasons was my favorite (although the Asian Cake was a little dry.) We also ate at the Tangerine Cafe, which was reasonably good but could be improved if they had air conditioning.

AK: Ribs at Flame Tree were very tender, and the dry rub made it less messy than saucy ribs would have been. The salmon at Tusker House was nicely done as well, the only advantage there being that Tusker has air conditioning (I think.)

MK: Tomorrowland Noodle Terrace gave an enormous amount of food, which was a little salty but appealing in the variety of its choices. Sadly it appears that they also have limited their menu. I wonder if it's a general response from all the restaurants to the dining plan?
