Best Counter Service Meals???

DH and I like the All Star Movies' food court, as well. Have the freshly made pasta dishes...shrimp and broccoli is our favorite. We like to go over to ASMo from a park, then, after eating, get back on a bus and go to another park or to DTD to catch a bus back to your resort. Or if you're at MK, ride the monorail and go to the Poly's food court. Sometimes we leave a park and go to POR for lunch...it's such a pretty resort.

My favorite CS from my trip last month:

Fish and chips from Yorkshire County at Epcot

Sunshine Seasons - rotisserie chicken/mashed potatoes/carrots. They also have great chicken Caesar salads and fabulous chocolate chip muffins!

Caseys - corn dog nuggets

Wolfgang Puck Express - yummy chicken quesadilla

Earl of Sandwich - good tomato soup and wonderful sandwiches

My final one: This isn't "counter service" but one of our true gems from my trip. Go to Tambu Lounge (the bar at the Poly) and get the lettuce wraps. They're absolutely fabulous! By far our favorite meal of the trip, and we ate at some great places (like Cali Grill and Le Cellier!). Have a nice relaxing glass of wine and get some lettuce wraps - they're so tasty, and even pretty darn healthy!

Yak and Yeti in AK starts taking ADRs on 12/3. You might be able to grab one then at least you will have 1 place to sit down and eat.

MK: Columbia Harbour House, Cosmic Rays (rib/chicken combo)

AK: Flame Tree BBQ or catch a bus to Mara at AKL or Pepper Market at CSR

MGM: nothing (usually catch a boat to Epcot)

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons, La Kringla Bakeri, the French bakery, Tangerine Cafe

DTD: Wolfgang Pucks Express or Cookes of Dublin (fried Snickers Bars--yum!)

We liked Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bills in MK, Toy Story Pizza (MGM), Artists Pallette (SSR). :goodvibes

I look forward to bbq at the Flametree Barbecue at AK also sinking my teeth into a hot dog at Casey's Corner in MK. I am going to try Earls Sandwich in DTD this time.

Okay, could someone please answer this question for me?

How come my husband who would divorce me (I have it in writing btw) if I EVER served him a hot dog at home absolutely loves hot dogs eaten away from home and the more expensive the better.? It is not that I would buy the $1 a pound mystery meat hot dogs, that I know for sure. I even cook my quality dogs in beer and serve them in fancy buns. What more could a man want?

Just wondering.

Jeez, I can't help you there! I cook dinner for my husband about twice a month. And the only silly thing he ever got upset about like that was when I said once, when we were dating, that my dream car was a Lexus. Seems the man can only stomach made in the USA cars.

He eats hot dogs at home all the time! Does your husband drive a Lexus by any chance?

Sounds like we could apply for that Wife Swap reality show. :lmao:

I would definitely avoid Columbia Harbor House at the Magic Kingdom if you have kids. While it's a fish and chicken CS restaurant, the ONLY 2 options for children are Mac n Cheese or a Salad!

We really liked Flame Tree bbq in AK; and Sunshine Seasons in the land in Epcot.

I also got a full Prime Rib dinner (a $20 value) for a CS credit at the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs. And it was darn good! :)

By the way, we scored a table at Le Cellier this past Saturday as walk-ups for lunch. For the life of me I couldn't get an ADR for this restaurant, but by walking up and inquiring we had a 20 minute wait and were seated. :woohoo: No guarantees, but give it a try!

Actually I think they are already open and taking ADR's. there is more info on allearsnet.com with a report and pictures.

If you can't get a table service rese. try the pepper Market. They serve you drinks and are the most attentive of all the CS restaurants. Also a great selection. The Maya Grill can also be slow at times and while not the best TS I've been to, it was certainly a nice place to eat.

I started a thread before our March 2006 trip titled something along the lines of "Mmm...I really got my CS money's worth" that became a pretty good resource. People listed out meals that were a great bargain as counter service.

I'm always happy when it is not fried or comes on a bun...i.e. the roasted chicken, mashed taters meals. Not sure where you are staying, but Pepper Market at CSR is a GREAT bargain if you are on the dining plan. If not, then it is pricey and a hassle.

Yak & Yeti are open, but are taking only walk ups at this time. I tried yesterday to get an ADR for my May trip and was told to call back after January 1st.

Our new favorite is Tangrine Cafe in Epcot. NOt only was it nice and quiet but it was one of the best lunches we had. It is now on our to do list for every trip.

Last week we ate at Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe had the chicken and Ribs, The ribs were fabulous. Also ate at Earl of Sandwich (2) at DTD unbelievable sandwitch's. Also had lunch at the Bakery on the Boardwalk great Panini style sandwitchs and you can sit right outside and people watch. Just a few of the great places. Happy Thanksgiving

We liked Toy Story Pizza Planet and Cosmic Ray's. Keep trying for an ADR. We went without any (just last week) and got into Coral Reef for a late lunch and Planet Hollywood.
