Any suggestions for counterservice at either DL or DCA for a vegetarian? Thanks in advance!

Rancho del Zocalo has a few options. They're portions are large and more importantly they are very tasty.

Bengal Barbecue has a couple of options. I haven't eaten there so hopefully others on the board will be able to fill you in.

French market has a Four-Cheese Pasta & Vegetable Gratin. I had it in December and it was delicious.

I'm sure others on the board will be able to help you out.

Black bean chili in sourdough bowl at Pacific Wharf Cafe - yummy, but kind of small.

Salads at Pizza Port.

Grilled Veggie Sandwich at Tomorrowland Terrace was surprizingly not too bad.

Just outside the security check is La Brea Bakery - LOVE the food there! Delicious soups, salads, and you are practically in the parks!

If you want a soup but don't want the waste of the breadbowl...you can get the chili/gumbo/soup in a little to-go thing (it looks tiny) and they'll put the bread into a baggie for you...that way you can choose how much you wish to eat, instead of having it decided for you by the bread being "ruined" by having the soup in it.

If it says "vegetarian" it is. The beans and rice at the Mexican restaurants are made with vegetable oil of some sort (NOT lard).

Plaza Inn has a lovely and simple penne pasta with marinara that we love.

You can order things without meat...we get the breakfast burrito at WhiteWater Snacks without the meat (just make sure before taking a bite, or if you ordered to go, before you leave), we get the breakfasts at Tomorrowland Terrace without the meat, etc.

The veggie burgers that they serve are not the soy-type that feel/taste like meat. They are more "vegetable burgers", where you can see the small chunks of carrot and broccoli, etc. I have also gotten black bean burgers before, which actually were NOT appreciated (that's not the taste I'm going for, generally, when I order a veggie burger) but most recently it's been the vegetable burgers.

Check out the menus on wdwinfo.com and especially allears.net.

Cafe Orleans (not counter service but still) has a veg ratatouille, and it was just confirmed that they'll make their dinner crepes vegetarian upon request.

I can't really think of a counter service place (other than the corn dog stands( that won't help a vegetarian...heck, even the hot dog place in the Hollywood section of DCA has a portobello mushroom dog!

The veggie skewers at Bengal Barbeque are yummy.

I agree with the soup/chili it so delicious!!

DCA also has veggy rice bowls and mexican. DL has cafeteria style mexican and pizza both good.

There are lots of options!

The Veggie Skewer at Bengal Barbecue was pretty good when I went. The little stand next to the Jungle Cruise has carrot and celery sticks to snack on too.

If you are in the mood for extremely unhealthy but really delicious fried food, get the mozzarella sticks at either the Farmer's market or in the Golden Horseshoe.

Also in the wharf/pier area of DCA has a few good options. The vegetarian chili in the Pacific Wharf Cafe bakery is delicious. The Lucky Fortune Cookery has four flavors of stir fries with Tofu served over rice. Cocina Cucamonga has veggie burritos which are decent as far as Disney food goes.

I love, love, love the Lighthouse Sandwich at Columbia Harbor House. It's located within the Magic Kingdom and though we went to Disney last November, I am still thinking about this sandwich (kind of sad). It's just broccoli slaw, hummus and tomato on toasted bread but it was probably the best sandwich I have ever had.

They also have vegetarian chili, though I haven't tried it yet I heard it was really good!

You posted this on the Disneyland forum. ( Columbia Harbor House is at WDW). The OP was looking for vegetarian dining at Disneyland and DCA.
