Best counter service at DHS??

I hate to make another ADR, especially when I don't LOVE my choices at DHS...so are there any decent counter service restaurants?? We've only done table service with an ADR in the past, so I have no idea what's good.

At the counter service locations I went to last month and ordered a Cheeseburger, they all had the Wheat Buns.

Catalina Eddie's has very good pizza. I eat there every visit to HS.

ABC Commissary gets a lot of bad reviews but we've eaten there twice and enjoyed it both times. Backlot Express, near Star Tours, is decent too. Both of them are mostly just burgers but they are both OK.

Yes they are still using those wheat buns.

Starring Rolls has good food, but limited seating and it closes around 4pm (IIRC).

My favorite is Starring Roll...get there early as they close early and run out of things....they only have a few choices of sandwiches...but my favorite is the dessert that comes with them....

I actually like the burgers at ABC Commisary and Backlot Express. Plus since they're so big, they have a lot of great spots for quieter seating.

I also enjoy Pizza Planet but I never ate indoors. I always took it to the tables outside to eat.

I am a wheat bread eater, and never found the buns dry. Maybe they are if you only eat white bread?

I always get great, hot, fresh veggie pizza at Pizza Planet with the salad and a rice krispie treat. I eat outside, and people-watch and enjoy the breeze, not the inside noise and pandamonium. I don't know what the people who always complain get, as mine is always fresh and hot and quite good.

Fairfax Fare is a place down by TOT which now has BBQ. It isn't great, but good enough and enough to share. This is what I got twice.
Ribs and Beef Brisket - served with baked beans and coleslaw $13.99.
Sharing is a great money saver when it works for you and is food you want.

Starring Rolls, Pizza Planet (IMHO) offer the only decent food at DHS. For really good Cs, take the boat or walk to World Showcase in Epcot -- of course, you need park hoppers to do that....

Maybe they are if you only eat white bread?

I really love wheat bread too, but last year they tasted like sandpaper! I don't know what when wrong, but the Electric Umbrella's burgers were AWFUL. I was just hoping they'd tweaked the recipe so I could enjoy them.
