Best compact digital camera?

I want a compact digital camera, under £200. Priorities are idiot-proof, point and shoot automatic setting and must be small - I have a chunky Minolta D-image 7i for work but it's way too bulky. I do have some thoughts but want your opinions please folks. Should be capable of taking a 256 meg flash card too.

Geez Mike, they're so many out there. I did read that the PC magazine website, that Jan/Feb are excellent times to go tech shopping--great deals.

I've got a Canon Exilim Ex-z3 which is gorgeous, tiny (size of a pack of playing cards) and even I can make it go. My DH, who is a bit of a gadget freak and experienced amateur photographer is also impressed.

It was about £250 6 months ago from Pixmania, which is more than you want to pay, unfortunately. Maybe it's come down in price by now?

The Cannon DIGITAL IXUS II is above your budget, however in my opinion a good camera. I bought my one from Jessops for £320 about 7/8 months ago, at the time Jessops price matched this from a on-line seller and they actually retailed for £345, you can now get the same camera for £249, and if you can get it cheaper elsewhere then Jessops will match..... it also supports up to 512mb.... oh and it is small....

Thanks everyone! I've been getting help from a few sources and have now decided on the Nikon Coolpix 2100! Next job is to see how cheap I can get it!
