Best Color of Jelly Beans

I am a Jelly Belly person, with the dispenser and all. I love all the favors except Buttered Popcorn. (Sorry elphaba91, just wish that one wasn't in there! :crazy2: ) I could live without the black licorice, too. But all the others are good!

Beanboozled is funny. And love the Belly Flops - misshapen JBs usually sold in discount stores.

I've only seen them at JB stores and at the factory in Fairfield. Most of the bags were labeled as made in Thailand the last time I checked. They set up a factory in Thailand to help meet their Asian demand. I don't think they were going to sell them in Asia.

black and red, everything else is just chewing

Okay you do know it is all your fault that I am bouncing off the walls with a MAJOR sugar high right now don't you.

We went to the coast and stopped in at the candyman and of course I had to try each color to find out which one is the best.

I think I will be bouncing until some time on Tuesday. :stitch::simba::hmghost::figment::ccat::maleficen:tigger::sulley::mickeyjum:goofy::dumbo::donald:

Agreed-black & red are my favorites as well. I like the Buttered Popcorn one, but after eating 1 or 2, they get nauseating.

there is a buttered popcorn flavor ? what sicko thought of that, there is a special place in hell for people like that :p

Well it took me most of the day but I finally got around to checking my bag.

And the survey says... Fairfield, CA! :hyper: (I'll be honest, I never knew where the JBs were made!)

I remember them from way back from some local TV magazine show. They showed a tour of their Oakland factory. They were in Oakland for more than 60 years, but I suppose they ran out of space or it got too expensive. The part of Fairfield they're in now isn't isolated or anything, but there's still lots of farm land around it. I guess an interesting day in Fairfield would be a tour of the Jelly Belly factory followed by a tour of the Anheuser-Busch brewery.

I know there's a factory near Chicago that makes Jelly Belly, but at one time I thought they were a licensee.

Don't know that much about the factory in Thailand, but they don't typically ship candy from there to the US except for the Belly Flops. The one thing I found out is that they use tapioca syrup instead of corn syrup. Something about making it easier to meet GMO-labeling requirements.

Interesting! Maybe I'll make it there next time I'm out there! Last year we did a lot of driving all along the east coast and we saw some companies headquartered in places we never expected. Same as last week, we were in NJ and PA and noticed some others there, too. We have some out our way as well. Made in the USA! (We have an Anheuser-Busch brewery in NH, we've done that tour years ago, and we drove by one in Newark the other day, too. DH was saying there are quite a few of those around. ?? )

They have something like a dozen in the US. I've talked to people in the beer industry who tell me that it's really incredible what they do. A lot of people think of it as weak tasting beer, but they are remarkably consistent making it taste the same across different breweries around the world. One said it's really hard to mask off-flavors with such a mild tasting beer.

Black. I love black licorice though it seems to be something people either love or hate.

As a kid, the only time I had jellybeans was for Easter. Back then, I don't think you could buy them the rest of the year. So I'd get a bunch in my Easter basket and would trade all the other colors for black, with my brothers who hated them.

I don't eat much candy anymore, but some of the flavors sound interesting.

The last time we went it changed to a self-guided tour

When was that? Last time we were there we had a guide taking us through. That was early last year.

But, to answer the question, I love, black (licorice), white, and red generic jelly beans. And the Jelly Belly buttered popcorn, and bubble gum. Tutti Fruitti is pretty good, too.

In order red, blue, orange then white. Yellow and green are ok. Black and purple are inedible

I believe they changed this year. It's mentioned on the web page.

I remember the guided tour. I suppose the big thing was that the video presentations were started for each group. Currently they run on a loop. Now one can spend as much or as little time as one wants at a particular spot.

For regular jelly beans purple and.....white!!! I like the pineapple too. :P

For Jelly Belly's Strawberry Daiquiri!!! Of course! LOL

Hands down Black licorice and they have to be brach's brand ones. :)
If it's jelly bellys then I love the margarita, Dr. Pepper, and root beer ones.
