What is the best Coaster park in Orlando? :thewave:

Hi and welcome to the DIS. I have moved this over to Orlando area attractions since you might be looking for a broader range of answers here than just WDW. Personally to me the Big Thunder Mtn at MK is about as wild as I get, so I'm definetly not gonna give the answer I'm sure a coaster lover is gonna want.

IOA has the best coasters in Orlando. Hulk is great! Actually, the best coaster park, as a whole, is an hour South in Tampa. Busch Gardens has the best coasters in the area. The new coaster will debut in the spring. Check it out at www.buschgardens.com Living in the Tampa area, we've been to all the parks many times, feel free to ask any questions.

BG is taking it up a notch with sheikra. within an hour, you have a collection of some of the best coasters on earth. it's hard to pick one park right now. kraken at sea world is pretty incredible as well.

Yep, I agree. Busch Gardens followed by Island of Adventure (Universal).

I don't think there's a thread, have you seen the VR flyby at BG's site?

Has anyone done the 5 park flex ticket? The kids have been complaining about going to Disney/Universal....AGAIN!!! So, we thought this time we might try Busch Gardens, Sea World, WetnWild,and Universal. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel that is CLOSE to Bush Gardens.

I went on the BG website and looked at their package deals, it seems the hotels they recommend are 25-45 minutes from the park. Guess I'm spoiled. I like to roll out of bed and land right in the park. LOL

There's several hotels near BG. The closest, the Safari Lodge, is within walking distance, but gets bad reviews. Here's a list of some others to check out that are within a mile: Double Tree Suites, Amerisuites, La
Quinta Inn & Suites, Wingate Tampa, & Embassy Suites. You are looking for hotels near Busch Gardens or USF. If you don't have any luck with these, try a search on Travelocity using Busch Gardens as your point of interest. There's some fairly new suite hotels just off I-75 that are also nice & not too far away. There are dozens of hotels, less than 25 min. away.

the best western on 30th is nice. but all of the above are right off mckinley and fowler are nice as well. except the safari.

you've got a lot of choices in the area. you can stand in the back parking lot of the best western and watch montu. my favorite is the doubletree.

I have stayed at the one listed as "Holiday Inn Near Busch Gardens" several times, as I travel to Tampa on business once in awhile... it is very nice, they have a great buffet breakfast (included if you sign up for a free Priority Club membership w/ Hol.Inn.), and have a TGIF attached. Rooms are average, but clean. The pool is nice (tho' I've never been in it), and it is just a few miles (if that) from the park.

Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by "VR flyby"? I've read about SheiKra on Busch Garden's site, but I don't *think* I've seen what you're referring to.
