Best clothes to wear at IOA (for water rides)?

I was thinking light weight cotton clothes and then carrying a pair of flipflops and maybe some spare underwear. I don't mind my top and shorts taking time to dry out but I don't like my footwear to be wet.

Still, isn't part of the fun of these rides getting wet

Are you sure about that? Many men's bathing suits look like shorts. If I change into a bathing suit prior to doing any of the water rides and wear a shirt, they won't let me? Or did I misunderstand?

Our family has never had a problem with swim suit shorts, shirt, and sandals or flip flops. My wife wears women board shorts over a bikini bottom and a shirt over the triangle top.

I just think they won't allow just bottoms for men without shirts and footwear. Then women in one piece or 2 piece without being covered up. We have to remember, it's about safety, it's a ride and not the pool. :thumbsup2

Its Florida....things dry here fast in the summer sun. Don't think so much into this.

Things to avoid:

jeans and jean shorts....these are too hot anyways even if you dont go on a water ride

sneakers with socks....

just wear something cotton, or athletic pants. Your t-shirt and cargo shorts will be dry in an hour tops in 90 degree weather

Flip Flops are required footwear in Florida lol

Thanks for the clarification. Makes my life a whole lot easier.

Unless it's 100% humidity out...which it often is in the summer...then "things" can take longer to dry out. I hate "that smell" that gets into my bra from the funky ride water. :scared: I smell it all day after I've been dumped on real good on a ride....

:rotfl: With all this talk about no bags at the U parks I was trying to figure out how to go light (no backpack) for these 2 days. I suppose I COULD pack 2 outfits to bring over but I'd been thinking only 1 each to keep it simple.

I am wondering about this? Are bags not allowed in The Universal parks?

And is there no express access to Potter? Just booked one night specifically for the express pass.

Would appreciate some expertise.

Thanks :)

Yes you can take bags. But most of the rides don't allow them. There are free lockers except for the water rides.

Correct, Potter does not take Express Pass. If you booked at a Universal hotel you get in 1 hour early to IOA.

We were planning on trying to be wet as much as possible just because it will be hot when we go in June.
So, there's not as many water rides in universal ? Is there somewhere to get a little wet, like misters?

My husband and son were going to wear swim trunks with a t shirt. The trunks kinda look like regular shorts. Would that be ok?
My son won't wear flips flops, so I thought we would carry a pair in our bac PAC for him for the water rides.

My daughter and I would wear board shorts with a swim suit top, but a tank top over it.

And definitely plastic baggies for phones and wallets.

Universal just requires riders to rent lockers to store items like bags on certain rides at no charge. Lockers are available at the front of each attraction. These rides include (IOA): The Incredible Hulk, Dragon Challenge, and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey; (USF): Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Revenge of the Mummy, and Men in Black: Alien Attack. Many like to wear waist packs as they are allowed on these rides and they don't have to mess with the lockers.

At the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Express Pass is available at Dragon Challenge and Flight of the Hippogriff. It's not available at Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (the popular ride inside the castle) and the Ollivander's Wand Experience (a small show).

The Studios no longer has any water rides (RIP Jaws :(), but there is a large play area called "Curious George Goes to Town" that can get you absolutely soaked. Although it's made for kids it really is fun for people of all ages. On a hot summer day it's a great spot to cool off!

At Islands of Adventure the water rides are Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges, and Jurassic Park River Adventure. There's also play areas that have water features around Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, and Seuss Landing. It's VERY easy to find water at IOA!

Then that's where I will be in the heat of the Florida sun!

Thanks! :thumbsup2

We also enjoy standing in the splash zone at Jurrasic Park, the Camp Jurrasic water guns, and the water areas (or falls) by Comic Strip Cafe.:thumbsup2
