Best Christmas Resort studio with kids?

We will have stayed at AKV and SSR. So far I'm thinking WLV or BLT, possibly BWV. It will be me by myself with the kids, so I'm hoping for easy transportation. Kids are on the young side (4, 6 and 9) for me to be able to watch them well at Stormalong Bay, or BCV would be in the mix.

What say the collective mind?

BLT is "best" due to the ability to walk to the MK IMO.

VWL or VGF would also be great - still fairly close to the MK with impressive lobbies.

Watching multiple kids at Stormalong Bay has a reputation for being tougher than you think.

If you are looking for this Christmas, you may already be too late.

My dates are very flexible so I'm hoping that is in my favor. BCV is out because of Stormalong Bay and your reason :D I really don't mind any DVC as long as we are at Disney :)

The best Christmas theming is WL, IMO. The transportation via boat drops you right in front of the entry to MK, and great bus service right near the Villas. Nothing like sitting by the fireplace on a cool evening and soaking up the great holiday décor.

You should probably book your home resort now and then at 7 months try to change or waitlist if nothing is available. I would keep your options open and be flexible. You might be able to piece together a split stay and experience a couple resorts -- just sometimes a pain packing and unpacking kids.

Keep in mind those studios which do actually accommodate 5 in a studio - BLT does not. So you would be limited to- BRV, BC, BW, Poly, VGF. Otherwise you are looking at 1BR for your family of 5.

"Me by myself with (3) kids" = 4, BTW.

(And I was agreeing with you on BCV, OP. :) )

For kids, anywhere there is a Christmas tree in the lobby and Mickey nearby would work IMO. BLT is pretty nice for your kids ages, easy walking to MK or a long monorail ride with 3 stops along the way and very short monorail ride back from MK to BLT, since BLT is the first stop after leaving MK on the resort monorail. And there is the Gingerbread display at CR with cookies for sale. Also since you are on the monorail you could easily take the kids to the Poly and GF to see the Christmas decorations there. Then you can take the ferry from CR to WL to see the Christmas decorations there.

Agree with booking your home resort. Even with flex dates, I don't think you'll get VWL or BWV.

We booked a poly studio for the second week of December 2016 at exactly the 7 month mark. It was great at Christmas. It is also larger than other dvc studios.

Sorry i missed that! I have heard VWL (BRV) are difficult to get generally, but maybe if construction is going on (might be done by then). It is one of the better decorated resort - altought you can't go wrong with any you listed. We were at SSR for xmas and although it was decorated and nice it was no where near what we saw at VGF or Poly. I don't think you can go wrong being just at disney for christmas - truly magical!!
