For those of you who have experienced Christmas at Disney, which hotel decorates the best for Christmas?

Hi IMHO it would have to be the GF!! Full SIZE Gingerbread House in the lobby and BEAUTIFUL trees, hugh garland on the staircases. Also beautiful decorations at the BW and the BC. We were at WDW Dec.17-22nd :santa: last year and it was just incredible! Joan

We did Christmas in Dec. 2005. We stayed at the Poly.We felt the decorations were beautiful and unique. Some may feel like they don't feel "Christmassy" as they are more of a tropical, subdued style...wreaths with raffia, starfish and shells, thw same materials interspersed with polynesian ornaments on the tree, etc. You won't find any snow covered evergreens there. We were also in CR at CM that same trip. The decor there didn't do a whole lot for me...pretty sparse and more generic looking, IMO. We also went to GF during that trip, and the decor was beautiful there as well...more of a formal, victorian theme w/o being fussy or unwelcoming. I have heard so many people say how beautiful the Christmas decorations were at WL, so we're trying that this year!

We are going this Dec 5-10 and plan to check out Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club, Boardwalk, Grand Floridian and the Poly, if we get a chance we may take a quick bus ride over to Animal Kingdom Lodge. As the holidays get closer the Travel Channel will do a Christmas in Disney, its amazing!!!!!

We loved the decorations at the Boardwalk for Christmas. but, overall Disney seems to go all out for Christmas at all resorts. I definitely recommend visiting other hotels to see what they do as well. You might even find something you can do at home!

My personal favorite is the carousel at the Beach Club.

I even got to ask Chef Stefan a question about it last year.

Last year the Poly and Animal Kingdom Lodge didn't have any holiday decorations. I was really looking forward to seeing the village at AKL, but it wasn't there, and no one could tell me why. At the Poly I learned they had recently lost their pastry chef, but were hoping to have something the following week (I don't know if they ever got their holiday decoration).

I think the WL tops them all! Next would be the GF and AKL for me. The Polynesian is my favorite resort and place to stay, but their holiday decorations don't do anything for me. Love those little catchy Christmas songs they play though! :)

It depends on your taste. Do you like traditional Christmas decorations - bright colors, santa, etc....or do you like more themed decorations?

The Wilderness Lodge - in a lot of way screams Christmas! The warm cozy hunting lodge, the soft music, the huge fireplace. But I was disappointed when the huge trees were decorated in teepees and wooden art. No bright colors, no santa...etc. The decorations were white, green, and brown. Not that there is anything wrong with that - but I missed my traditional Christmas Decorations.

The Grand Floridian is majestic - the tree is huge, the gingerbread house is fantastic. But again all the tones were muted to be victorian in pinks and whites. Although the grounds of the Grand were awesome. Bright red pointsettias everywhere. I loved that.

But alas my favorite decorations were at Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Boardwalk. Bright colors, in traditional hughs. The Chocolate Carosel, the Chocolate boardwalk, and the train set had those 1950's era traditions that I was looking for. The flowers were also beautiful and you just felt like you were in a Norman Rockwell painting.

GF hands down!!

Also AKL had plenty of Christmas decs last year, just not a gingerbread display....

GF and WL look the best with the Christmas stuff. BWI and BC look the worst - they do a beautiful job, but the colors of the resort just don't blend with the Christmas stuff. Even the Christmas music seems out of place.

The AKL is pretty cool. If you don't like AKL to begin with, you won't like it at Christmas. But if you do like the AKL, the Christmas stuff adds a really nice touch. :) Poly is unique, too. Neither give you the typical Christmas feel, though.
